CARTER -- Richard Dale "Dick" Carter, 74, died early Saturday morning from complications brought on by frontotemporal dementia. Born in Corsica, SD, Dick was raised in Fowler Indiana. The youngest of five children, Dick went on to join the Navy in 1951. Upon his discharge, he attended DeVry Institute which started him on his career in Aerospace. The mid-50's found Dick in Japan working for Bendix Field Engineering, a company he would stay with until the mid-80's. During that time, he worked on projects across the United States that were classified in nature, as well as more public achievement such as the early unmanned probes to Mars and the inner solar system. Upon his retirement in 1990, Dick settled back to enjoy life in his adopted state of New Mexico. Dick is survived by Sally, his wife; and two sons; Richard Jr. "CJ", and David. A Rosary will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior at French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd NE. A Funeral Liturgy will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary Wyoming Chapel. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. HUGHES -- Crystal Allen Hughes, 81, passed away at her home on Sunday, November 4, 2007, after a brief illness. She was born September 25, 1926, in Buffalo, WY, to William and Crystal Allen. The family moved to New Mexico in 1942. She graduated from Albuquerque High School and attended McCauley Business College. She was employed by the US Forest Service until she married in 1950. Later, she worked for Eckert's Auto Service for ten years. Crystal was preceded in death by her husband, Walter A. Hughes, and recently, her son, Stuart Hughes. She is survived by her daughter, Maggie Zahm; granddaughter, Allyson Wallace; and grandsons, Adam Zahm and Aaron Zahm. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 12, 2007, at Central United Methodist Church, 1615 Copper NE. Interment will take place on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe. JONES -- Eddie A. Jones. April 12th, 1948 - Nov. 8th, 2007. 59 years old. He is survived by his wife Kil Su Jones; daughter Julie Jones; grandson Chase Cardwell; brothers Jack Jones of Albuquerque, Ronnie Jones of Caspian, Michigan; sisters Cathy Atanasoff of Kenosha, Wisconsin and Margie Monroe of Blackwell, Oklahoma; sister and brother-in-law Kwang Su and Dorlon Pond, and Jessica and Kenny. Born in Iron River, MI and retired military residing in Albuquerque, NM since 1991, he was a wonderful father, husband, brother, grandfather, and companion. MANCE -- ANTHONY G. Lt. Col. Anthony G. Mance, 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1967, died November 6, 2007. He is survived by his spouse, Ruth Helen Mance of Albuquerque, N.M; son, Robert Octave Mance and wife of Los Angeles, CA.; daughter, Patricia Ann Fowler of Rio Rancho; five grandchildren, Jessie Fowler and wife of Rio Rancho; Michelle Muller and husband of Albuquerque; Lacy Sincomb and husband; Crystal Mance and Michael Mance of Los Angeles, CA; four great-granddaughters, Cassandra Fowler, Elizabeth Fowler, Danielle Muller, Amber Muller; also many very dear and close friends. Lt. Col. Mance was a retiree of the Unites States Air Force. He served in World War II and Korea and also retired from the City of Albuquerque. He was a longtime member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited Monday, November 12, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel. MILLER -- Billie B. Chesshire Miller, 80, born November 9, 1926 in Clariton, Texas and left us to be with Jesus November 8, 2007. Billie is survived by her husband, Fred Miller; siblings, Eurlene Johnson and husband, Bayard of Hewitt, TX, Pete Cosper and wife, Norma of Stanley, NM, Leroy Cosper of Wheatherford, TX, Tooter Cosper and wife, Pat of Corrales, NM; children, Connie Heath and husband, Virgil, Lynn Lee and husband, Gerald, Dennis Miller and wife, Jane, and Ilene Gay; 14 grandchildren, Clyde Heath and wife, Cindy, Tammie Lind and husband, Clinton, Dawn Nials and husband, Marvin, Rusty Heath and wife, Leah, Dusty Heath and Amy, Mike Lee and wife, Patty, Justin Lee and wife, Shawna, Kimberly Clark, Bobby Miller, Shelley Miller, Pamela Guevillion and husband Kyle; 20 great grandchildren, Kayla, Casey, Cameron, Tyler, Johanna, Lindsey, Riley, Cassidy, Logan, Jaden, Luther, Ashley, Alisha, Kyle, Brianna, Wyatt, Haley, Mackenzi, PJ and Calle; and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. MILLER -- Elizabeth (Betty) Allan Miller, 85, of Albuquerque, beloved wife of Glenn H. Miller, was taken home by the Lord on November 8, 2007, after a lengthy illness. She was born to Eliza M. and Joseph M. Allan in Rochester, New York on March 26, 1922. After graduating from High School, she attended a business school in Rochester. Betty then became a secretary in the Stromberg-Carlson Company. There she met Glenn, her future husband, who was a graduate physics student, working at the time in the Stromberg research department. They were married on October 19, 1945. In 1946, the couple moved to Ithaca, NY, where Glenn completed his graduate work at Cornell University. After that, they lived successively in Ames, IA; Charlottesville, VA; and Littleton, CO. In 1961, they moved to Albuquerque and have lived here since then. Betty was preceded in death by her two brothers, Jack and Joe Allan, and her son-in-law, John Wade. She is survived by Glenn, her husband of 62 years; her son, Quentin Miller and wife, Docia; daughter, Tami Wade; and daughter, Clare and husband, Robert Culpepper. In addition, she is survived by seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Betty's major interest after her Lord was her family. Besides that, she was for some years a member of the Assistance League of Albuquerque and the Old Glass Club. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Cremation has taken place. NEUN -- George Neun born in Denver, CO, April 29, 1917 passed on November 11, 2007. George is preceded in death by his wife, Christine. They moved to Albuquerque in 1949 to work at Sandia Laboratory. He was a true rocket man and also lived in Kwajalein, Marshall Island where he oversaw the testing facility. He is survived by his daughter Mary Stiles and her partner, Mark Ethier and her children, Trey Stiles; Seattle WA; Kelly Stiles Seider and her husband Joel and their children, Cameron and Julia; Chicago, IL. He is also survived by daughter, Linda Eitzen and her husband Richard. He is also survived by his daughter Georgia Simpson and her husband Jim; Hanover, PA and their son Michael and his wife Corinne; Burlington, VT. George enjoyed skiing, sailing, woodworking and golf. His special gift was his sense of humor. His jokes brought laughter to all he knew. The family gives special thanks and gratitude to the staff at Montebello and Ambercare Hospice who so compassionately cared for him. PICKLE -- Earline, 83, passed away Friday, November 9, 2007. She was born in Pueblo, CO, the first child of James and Leota Ryan and spent her formative years in Anderson, Indiana. She attended Indiana University, then moved to Florida in 1958. Earline was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, Daughters of the Nile, Forest Service Las Novias. In her early years she was a member of the Women Aviators 99 Club. Earline and Franklin married in 1966 and lived in Texas, Washington, DC and then moved to Albuquerque in 1979. She is survived by her husband Franklin Pickle; son, Michael C. Carr and his wife Judy; step-children David Pickle and Mary Webster and husband Ned; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; siblings Bill Ryan, Betty Gill and Dee Stottlemyer; her sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Ryan and Ellen Ryan; and many nieces and nephews. RATHGEBER -- William Donald ("Don") Rathgeber, age 87, passed away in Albuquerque, NM on November 9, 2007 after a short illness. Born October 18, 1920 in Lock Haven, PA, Don graduated from what is now Lock Haven University in 1942 and was commissioned in the United States Army Air Corps that same year. After serving in England, France, and Germany during World War II, Japan, and Vietnam, Don retired from the United States Air Force in 1969 with the rank of Colonel and settled in Albuquerque. Don was a member of Hiram Lodge #13 and belonged to the Ballut Abyad Shrine. He was a member of the Director's Staff, The Royal Order of Jesters, and the Order of the Quetzalcoatl. An avid golfer, he was a former member of Pendaries Golf Club and an active member of Albuquerque Country Club. Don was also a member of Central Methodist Church and the Church of the Good Shepherd. Don is survived by his wife of over twenty three years, Gertrude Schwartzman Rathgeber; two sons: Lt. Col William Allen Rathgeber, USAF ret., his wife Cathryn and two grandsons, Bryan Lewis Rathgeber and Jeffrey William Rathgeber, all from Plano, Texas; Colonel David Don Rathgeber, USAF ret. and his wife InSuk, currently living in Seoul, Korea; and a daughter, Colonel Susan Jane Voveris, USAF ret., her husband, Lt Col Bronis J. Voveris, USAF ret.; a granddaughter, Jessica Jane Voveris; and a grandson, Michael Bronis Voveris. Don was preceded in death by his parents Lewis W. Rathgeber and Carmetta Earon Rathgeber; a sister Gretchen; a brother Lewis; and a wife of nearly thirty five years, Jane Allen Rathgeber. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Don will be sorely missed by his family, the Schwartzman family members, and his many friends. RICHMOND -- Ray Sprague Richmond, 68, a long-time resident of Placitas, New Mexico, died at his home on November 9, 2007, following a short illness. He is survived by his spouse, Gayle W. Richmond and seven children, D. Scott Richmond and wife, Katherine of Los Alamos, Nina K. Summers of Albuquerque, Ray S. Richmond, Jr. and wife, Michelle of Albuquerque, John Paul Richmond of Albuquerque, Jason B. Miller of Albuquerque, Colin C. Richmond of Albuquerque, and Travis P. Miller of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Mr. Richmond is also survived by two sisters, Bonnie Fay Sweeney and Kelly A. Cockrell, as well as eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both parents and one sister. Mr. Richmond was born on March 10, 1939, and reared in South Saint Paul, Minnesota. He attended the University of Minnesota, and graduated from Oregon State University with advanced degrees in Professional Engineering. Mr. Richmond's career took him to work in locations in Europe, Hawaii, the east coast as well as in New Mexico. In his early years Mr. Richmond worked for the 3-M Corporation and Singer. During the last 20 years Mr. Richmond worked for Rockwell International and Boeing. Mr. Richmond was a member of the Commemorative Air Force as well as the Society of Professional Engineers. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2007, at 4:00 p.m. at the Las Placitas Presbyterian Church in Placitas, New Mexico. Memorial contributions may be made to Ambercare Hospice Services.

RUMBLES -- Barry Rumbles, MSW, long-time member of the Chancel Choir at Central United Methodist Church in Albuquerque New Mexico, psychologist, social worker, educator, actor, father and husband, passed away peacefully after a short illness on Saturday November 10, 2007. His wife of 49 years, Beverly, was with him when he died. Son Bryce, currently of Fort Lauderdale, was en route at the time. He was preceded in death by his daughter Lisa; his aunt Josephine; his mother Elizabeth; and his father Jack. Rumbles was a clinical social worker at Lovelace Clinic for 13 years. Before that, he worked for several years as psychologist at the Central New Mexico Correctional Facility in Los Lunas. Prior to coming to New Mexico in 1980, Rumbles was with the Arcadia (CA) Unified School District for ten years. Before earning his Master's degree in social work at USC, he worked in probation departments for Yolo and San Bernardino Counties in California. Blessed with a beautiful singing voice, Rumbles was also an accomplished actor, playing parts in Albuquerque Little Theater productions in the '80s (memorably, Boo Radley in To Catch a Mockingbird), and in various musical comedies (Judd Fry in Oklahoma; the baritone "bad guy" roles in various Gilbert and Sullivan productions) in other venues. Rumbles leaves behind a wife, a son, two grandchildren, Jacob and Hailey, and innumerable friends, co-workers, and acquaintances. A Memorial Service will be held at the Central United Methodist Church, Wednesday, November 14th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Central United Methodist Church General Fund in Barry's name.
