DASSIE -- Louis F. Dassie, Sr., age 84, formerly of Chicago, died Monday, September 17, 2007 in Rio Rancho, NM. Mr. Dassie retired from Illinois Bell after 44 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Marge, nee Lilly; parents, Gigi and Ma Dassie; sons, Jimmy and Mike; and daughter, Carol (Greg) Blakely; three sisters, Dorothy (Hank) Bell, Janet (Clarence) Walstrom and Bernice (George) Popelka; and two brothers, Jack (Ruth) and Don. Survived by his daughters and sons, Margo (late John) McCarthy, Betty (Phil) Cummuta, Lou (Gay) , Bob (Denise), Alice (late Hugh) Rice, Kathie (Mark) Franklin, Tom (Teresa), Rick (Maureen), Steve (Donna) and Dave (Tina); 39 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd SE, Rio Rancho.
