SCHIER -- Robert Frederick Schier, 84, passed away Monday, September 17, 2007. He is survived by two sons, Daniel and Eric and their wives, Judy and Anne; and four grandchildren, Evan, Caroline, Scott, and Madeline. Also surviving Bob is his Chilean son and daughter-in-law, Luis and Veronica Castro and their three children. He was preceded in death by his first child, Robert and his wife of 46 years, Betty. Bob was born and raised in Beaver Valley, PA as was his family. He was an engineering graduate of Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA, and Carnegie Tech. He served three years in the U.S. Army-Air Corps and worked 38 years as a hot mill manager for Babcock and Wilcox Tubular division. Bob lived the last 13 years in Rio Rancho, NM, enjoying the wide open views, fine weather, and long golfing seasons. A testament to persistence, Bob scored his first hole in one at the age of 80 and scored his age at 79. Most of all Bob was a kind, loving, honest man who will be dearly missed by his family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, September 23, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services Chapel, Sara Rd. and Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho.
