RABIDEAU -- SHERMAN WEBBER Dr. Sherman Webber Rabideau, 87, of Albuquerque, NM, died Saturday, August 25, 2007 in Fort Smith. He was a graduate of the University of Minnesota, he attained his doctorate in Physical Chemistry from the University of Iowa. During World War II he served with the US Navy at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, D.C. He was a chemist with Los Alamos National Laboratory from 1949 until his retirement in 1982. Among his many accomplishments he served as Advisor to the U.S. Delegation, 2nd International Conference on Peaceful uses of Atomic Energy in Geneva, Switzerland in 1958. He was a J.D. Clark medalist, a member of the American Chemical Society, a fellow of the America Academy for the Advancement of Science, and was a life fellow and served as chairman of the board of directors of the American Institute of Chemists. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Rafn Rabideau. Memorial Service for the family will be held in Los Alamos, NM at a later date. The body was cremated under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Marie Teel Rabideau; one son: Dr. Dana P. Rabideau and his wife, Clara of Fort Smith; two daughters: Rene Rabideau Rivera and her husband, Renato of Mexico City, Mexico; Meredith Rabideau Perlman of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one step-daughter: Mary Jane Teel McCamey and her husband, Ray of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one step-son: William D. Teel and his wife, Tanya of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two grandsons; two step-granddaughters; and one step-great-grandson.
