ELLIOTT -- Laurie McKnight and Glenn Elliott died Monday, August 27, 2007 in Mora County, NM. Glenn Elliott was born in Oklahoma September 13, 1932 and studied electrical engineering at Oklahoma State University. After graduating, he moved to Albuquerque in 1953 and worked at Sandia National Laboratory as an Electric Engineer, where he remained for over 40 years. He lived for flying, and for two decades regularly flew medicine and dentists into hard-to-reach impoverished villages in Mexico for St. Jude Express. He was an avid hiker, skier, bicyclist and folk dancer, as well as a world traveler. He is survived by his daughter, Jane Meagher and husband Michael of Seattle, WA; and his son, Neil Elliott and wife Laurel of Albuquerque. Laurie McKnight was born on May 20, 1933 in East St. Louis, IL. She graduated from the University of Illinois in Education, and taught first grade and special education for many years. Laurie was a master gardener. She loved music, art, folk dancing, flowers, friends, and family. Laurie enjoyed bicycling, skiing, hiking, and yoga. In recent years, she embraced Buddhism. She is survived by her three children, Wilbur L. Bowen and wife Takako of Albuquerque, Amy Bowen and husband Jaime of Santa Fe and Peter Bowen of New York City; Laurie's brother, John Rob McKnight of Santa Fe, NM and sister, Ellen McKnight of New York, NY. Glenn and Laurie delighted in their eleven grandchildren, Danielle, Hannah, Leah, Rhys, Seiya, Takaya, Annie, Leonard, Mario, Daniel and Max. A Memorial will take place at the Outpost Performance Space, 210 Yale SE (2 blocks south of Central) on Sunday, September 9, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Please bring photos to share.
