CHAVEZ -- Amarante "Monty" Chavez, age 87, passed into the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, August 28, 2007. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Lucy; one daughter; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Genieva Ronan (Frank), Josie Brown (Ray), Norman Chavez (Irene), Chico Chavez (Veronica), Pat Chavez (Dolores), Daniel Chavez and Rachel Vigil. Also four grandchildren he raised, Ben Garcia (Janice), Michael Garcia (Charlotte), Richard Garcia (Diane) and Tina Garcia. He is also survived by his brother, Bernardino Chavez and sister, Eva Sandoval. He was blessed to have 26 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren. He was a wonderful father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. Public visitation will be on Friday, August 31, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral Service to follow at 7 p.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Service, 3113 Carlisle, NE. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2007 11 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Cemetery 1900 Edith Blvd. NE.
