LOGAN -- John P. Logan, 83, who moved to Albuquerque with his parents in 1931, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2007. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sue; children Greg and his wife Lorraine of East Setauket, N.Y., Ken, who works in Iraq in support of U.S. troops, and his wife Charlotte of Toledo, OH. and Patrick of Albuquerque. He also is survived by five granddaughters, Dana, Kerry and Lauren of East Setauket, and April and Holly of Toledo. John was born Oct. 29, 1923 in Greensburg, Ind. but was a true son of New Mexico, graduating from AHS and in 1947 from UNM, where he was president of Sigma Chi Fraternity, after serving in the Navy during World War II as commander of a PGM ship in the Phillippines. He later was employed for 39 years at Sandia Corporation. He was a longtime fan of Lobo athletics and loved New Mexico and its diverse culture. Most importantly, he was the most devoted and supportive husband and father imaginable and a deep thinker and spiritual person who loved a good debate and challenged those closest to him to expand their minds. The family wishes to thank Presbyterian Hospital and the Hospice staff at Anna Kaseman for the wonderful care they provided. There will be a public viewing from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, August 24, 2007 at Riverside Funeral Home, 225 San Mateo NE and a Memorial Service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2007 at Immanuel Presbyterian at Carlisle and Silver followed by a noon graveside service at Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale Blvd. SE.
