WALKER -- Mary E. Walker, a resident of Albuquerque since 1984, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, June 23, 2007, after a long decline following a hip fracture in 2005. She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Essex of Beavercreek, OH and Judy Kil and husband, Pat of Albuquerque; five grandchildren, Barry Essex, Brian Essex, Dan Hanley, Lori Thomas and Corey Hanley; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob Hanley, Taylor Thomas and Chandler Hanley; two surviving siblings, Raymond Kominsky in Wyoming, where she was born in 1915, and Kate Nelson of Washington state. Mrs. Walker first moved to Albuquerque in 1942, to marry her lifelong partner of 60 years, Cecil J. Walker, who preceded her in death in 2002. The last four years of her life were spent at Aspen Care, where she remained sweet and loving to all who knew her. She always enjoyed sewing, gardening, having a clean house, and particularly being involved with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be held Friday, June 29, 2007, 11:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM.
