MATTINGLY -- Suzanne Z. Mattingly, 56, a resident of Placitas, NM since 2004 and a former long-term resident of San Carlos, CA, died Monday, June 25, 2007. She is survived by her spouse, Jerome A. Mattingly of Placitas; step-children, Monica Borrowman and husband, Todd of Washington, IL and Brian Mattingly and wife, Melanie of St. Paul, MN; five grandchildren; brother, Stan Snyder of Spring Grove, PA; sister, Sally Cain of Lebanon, PA; two nieces; and one nephew. Suzanne was preceded in death by her father and mother, Charles and Eleanor Snyder formerly of Thomasville, PA. She received her B.S. from Penn State and her Ph.D. in Molecular Virology from the Medical College of Virginia. Suzanne was a respected marketing professional for several biotechnology companies in Maryland and California before moving to New Mexico to work for Exagen Diagnostics in Albuquerque. She was a proficient instrument-rated aviator with over 2,000 hours of flight time and she was an accomplished artist with chalk, charcoal and pastels. Her energy and vitality, love of life, family and friends, her passions for many various activities such as birding, cooking, gardening, pilates, reading, and traveling and her generous and kind nature will be warmly remembered. A loving wife, stepmother and grandmother, her ashes will be released over her favorite flying places in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
