REID -- Rita Diane Reid, 69, thirty-one year resident of the Albuquerque area, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2007. She is survived by her husband, CMSgt USAF (Ret) Al Reid; daughter, Lisa Ryles and husband, Jim; sons, Scott Reid and partner, Maryann, Kirk Reid and wife, Evette, and Chris Reid and wife, Nicole; eight grandchildren, Heather, Alex, Brandie, Sarah, Rachel, Colton, Wesley and Eliot; sister Carol and husband, George Leimbach; one niece, three nephews, and 12 grand nieces and nephews; best friend, Barb Wheeler; cats, Spooky and Speedy; and numerous family, friends and neighbors, military and civilian, past and present. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Kathleen and George Haynie. Diane is a veteran of the USAF (1956-1958). On Al and Diane's wedding night, with only $3.48 left after paying bills, they went home to find that friends had taken all the light bulbs from their house and put the mattresses in the bathtub. Lisa was born 9 months later. Even with the bumps, the next 49 years were great. Rosary will be recited Monday, June 4, at 6:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, with Father Tom Maikowski reciting. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, June 5, 12:00 p.m., at Kirtland Air Force Base Chapel. Internment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. Friends may visit French Mortuary on Monday, June 4, 4:00 - 8:00 pm.
