SAAVEDRA -- Margaret Saavedra was born December 24, 1927 in Albuquerque, NM. She passed away Monday, April 2, 2007. Margaret fought a valiant battle against cancer, but God saw her getting tired and sent the angels to take her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luis Saavedra; and her daughter, Yolanda Saavedra Cortinas; and very special niece, Terry Leal. Margaret is survived by her daughters, Kate Ortiz and husband, Joe L., Tomie Winters and husband, Dale; son, Leroy Saavedra and wife, Priscilla; godson, Horacio Cortinas and wife, Tiffany; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. Services will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 816 Broadway Blvd. SE. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery on Coors and Arenal. Pallbearers will be Horacio Cortinas, Orlando Saavedra, Faustine Farmer, Luis Serna, Joshua Saavedra, and Dino Cortinas. Honorary pallbearers will be Fermin Gonzales, Joe L.
