TAPIA -- Filadelfio Tapia, 92, our beloved husband, father and grandfather, went home Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at his home in Albuquerque, NM, surrounded by his loving family. Phil was a proud Veteran of the US Army Air Corp where he served during World War II for two years. He retired from the Civil Service after working for 33 years as a Heavy Equipment Operator. Phil was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Martina Tapia; father, Jesus Maria Tapia; mother, Crucita Tapia; sisters, Jenny Hernandez, Nora Lopez, Adelina Montoya, Helen Armijo and brothers, Joe Tapia and Juan Tapia, special sister-in-laws Modesta Romero and Juania Sena. Phil is survived by his daughter, Nellie and husband Gilbert Artiaga; grandson, Gilbert Artiaga Jr.; granddaughter; Monica and husband Austin Zachary; sister, Consuelo Armijo; brothers, Charlie Tapia and Miguel Tapia; other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. Services will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW. A Rosary will be recited on Monday, March 12, 2007 at 7:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with US Army Honors. Pallbearers will be Nerio Roybal, Oliver Tapia, Robert Armijo, Monica Zachary and Gilbert Artiaga Jr. Honorary pallbearer will be Jimmy Hernandez.
