KAZEK -- Chester Stephen Kazek Jr., age 80, born in Chicago, IL has left this life to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Chet married the love of his life, Margaret Jane, who preceded his death in 2003. They raised their family in Los Alamos, NM and retired to Albuquerque in 1983. Chet had a very fulfilling life. Besides providing for his family while working at the National Laboratory as a mathematician and scientist, his interests included judging dogs for obedience and tracking, competitive ping pong and bowling, sailing, motorcycle riding, traveling, and golfing. In 1971 he promoted the deaconate program and studied to become a Deacon. In 1972 he was ordained a Deacon and made Assistant Pastor. He devoted his deaconate ministry to the separated, divorced and widowed community. He is survived by his three children, Karen, Carol and Michael; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and many wonderful close friends. A Rosary Service will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2006, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2006, 8:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Annunciation Catholic Church, 2632 Vermont NE. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel on Tuesday, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the National Emphysema Foundation at 128 East Avenue Norwalk, CT 06851 or the Good Shepherd Center PO Box 749 Albuquerque, NM 87103-9953.
