MONETTE -- WILLIE T. SR. On September 11, 2006 Willie T. (Bill) Monette Sr., 70, Cane River's own "Brother or Cracker Jack" left us after an extended illness. An Army veteran, he was a retired metallurgist from General Electric, an avid camper and quilter. He loved his family and friends, cooking and eating authentic Cajun foods, and his dogs - Jane's dog, Paco, and Sadie. He is survived by V. Paul Hagedorn; Nola Monette; his five children, Carrie (Maggie) Roybal/husband Allen, Gizel (Gigi) Callahan/husband Sam, Bibian (Bibs) Dubois/husband Daniel, Willie T. (Billy) Monette Jr., Kristina (Teeny) Bryant/husband JB. Also surviving: grandchildren, Jessica Pacheco, Jeremy Monette, Inez Callahan, Sarah Callahan, Emily Callahan, Lauren Dubois, Miriah Roybal, Henri Dubois, Francesca Bianchi, Rebecca Roybal, Seth Bryant, Shatan Callahan; and great-grandchildren, Xavier Pacheco, Lillyan Callahan, Stephanie Callahan; and by his brothers and sisters: Gussie Marie Sers/husband Benny, Joe Severin/wife Aggie, Gabby Severin/wife Kuchai, Neal Monette Jr./wife Patricia, Pat LaCour, Pa Dick Monette/wife Connie, Little Mama/husband Robert; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the America Cancer Society. Memorial Rosary will be recited on Saturday, September 16, 2006 at 9:30 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5311 Phoenix NE, with the Mass immediately following. Cremains will be interred at the Fairview Cemetery, 700 Yale Blvd. SE.
