GALLEGOS -- IRENE Mrs. Irene Gallegos "Froggy", 63, an Albuquerque resident since 1957, born in El Paso, TX on July 3, 1943, departed peacefully on September 9, 2006. She was preceded in death by her mother, Natalia Hernandez, November 2, 1995; sister, Josefina, December 25, 1995; granddaughter, Desiree, July 6, 1988; mother-in-law, Lola Gallegos, November 2000; father-in-law, Marshall Gallegos, February 1988; also, Della, May 1994; Ray, March 2006; Tom, October 1999; Joseph, October 1996; Robby, March 1992; Jesse, November 1986; Salomon, November 1978. Mrs. Gallegos is the beloved wife to Mr. Desiderio (Desi) Gallegos of 43 years. Mrs. Gallegos is also survived by her loving children, her sons are Paul and wife, Jeannie, Jerry and wife, Marlene, Desi and wife, Michelle, Joe and wife, Joestte, Jimmy and wife, Jenice. Her loving daughters are Illene and Pete, Lorraine and husband, Edward, Maria and Bruce. Mrs. Gallegos has 17 loving grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and one great-grandson on the way. Mrs. Gallegos is also survived by her brothers, Jimmy, Henry, Beto; sisters, Mary, Lupe, and Vicki. She also has family in California: Carlos, Cruz, Tommy, Linda, Ofelia, and Arminda. She also had many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. Irene was a great mother as well as a wonderful wife. She was a homemaker all her life. She did have occasional jobs working for the Priest at Our Lady of Assumption Parish and cooking at Desiree's Coffee shop. Most importantly she raised her eight beautiful children and numerous grand- and great-grandchildren with lots of love and affection. Numbers can't speak for all the lives Irene touched in her time here. She was always willing to listen and give what ever was needed to those in need. In lieu of Flowers, Irene's wish was that donations be made to the Albuquerque Kidney Center located at 11298 Lomas Blvd. NE, 87110. A viewing will take place on Tuesday, September 12, 2006 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Riverside Funeral Home Chapel. A Rosary for Mrs. Gallegos will be recited on Wednesday September 13, 2006 at 9:30 a.m. with Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. The Gallegos Family would like you to join them afterwards for a BBQ. A Burial Service will be held Friday September 15, 2006 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be Mario Collazo, Ernest Gutierrez, Jonathan Hernandez, Jimmy Pat Gallegos, Andrew Gallegos, and Andy Gallegos.
