BODENHAMER -- ROSS E. Lt. Col. Ross E. Bodenhamer, USAF Ret., was born September 28, 1917 and died July 26, 2006 at the age of 88. Col. Bodenhamer was preceded in death by two sisters, Eleanor Provance and Betty Halverstadt. He is survived by his wife, Maxine; three children, Linda Heath and husband, Ted, Dean Bursch and wife, Susan, Beverly O'Brien and husband, Tom; a son, Jerry Lynn Bodenhamer; seven grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews. Ross served 26 years in the U.S. Air Force in various parts of the world, and was a middle school teacher for nine years after retirement. He was a graduate of the University of Missouri and obtained a Master's Degree from the University of Michigan. At the time of his death he was a member of the Rio Rancho Host Lions Club where he had been the treasurer and involved in many activities for 20+ years. Ross was also a Master Gardener and had been active in 4-H and teaching gardening. He was an active member of Alameda Bible Church where he was a Deacon and an active member of the Retired Officers Association. In addition, he and his wife were active members of the Aristocrat Caravaner's Trailer Group for many years. Ross loved to garden, golf, fish, travel, and do volunteer work. He would like to be remembered by the Lions Club slogan "We serve people who are less fortunate than ourselves." Above all, his life reflected a commitment to duty, country, and family. Visitation and Services will be held at Alameda Bible Church, 220 El Pueblo Rd. NW, between Fourth St. and Second St. NW. The visitation will be on Monday evening, July 31, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. with interment following at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery on Menaul and Edith NE.
