BLOCK -- Sherrill "Sherry" Logan Block, 69, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, July 13, 2006. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, T.J. Block; three children, John J. Block and wife, Jean of Albuquerque, Jennie Taylor and husband, Phillip of Albuquerque, and Pamela Rodriguez and husband, Miguel of Guymon, OK; seven grandchildren, Zachary Taylor and wife, Sarah, Jessica Taylor Rodriguez and husband, Neil, William Rodriguez, Logan Rodriguez, Amelia Rodriguez, David Shaffer, and Jennifer Brown; five great-grandchildren, Caleb, Cody, Brandon, Dane, and Keller. Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, John A. Logan and Dorothy Alice Mumford Logan. She was born on February 26, 1937 in Albuquerque. She was married at the age of 16 and left school in her sophomore year to raise her children. When her children entered school she enrolled in the University of New Mexico and graduated with a teaching degree. She was a fifth and sixth grade teacher at Wherry Elementary School and a sixth grade teacher at Van Buren Middle School. Sherry was a long time member of the United Methodist Church. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. on Monday, July 17, 2006, 4:00 p.m. Interment of cremated remains has taken place at Sunset Memorial Park.
