GOMEZ-GURULE -- Cidelia Gomez-Gurule, 87, of Albuquerque and formerly of Leadville, CO, passed away Monday, May 8, 2006 in an Albuquerque hospital. She was born September 4, 1918 in Rosa, NM to the late Jose Francisco Sotelo and Inesita Sanchez Sotelo. In addition to her parents, Cidelia was preceded in death by her first husband of 35 years, Epimenio Gomez; her second husband of 1 1/2 years, Phil Gurule; two sons, Charles and Melvin E. Gomez; and two daughters, Loretta May Gomez and Susan M. Stewart. Survivors include her companion of 22 years, Matias Martinez; her children, Delfino E. Gomez, Wheatridge, CO, Leroy A. Gomez and his wife, Diane of Ft. Collins, CO, Marie I. Brodie of Scottsdale, AZ, Ruby M. Danbury and Nancy E. Romero, both of Albuquerque, Thomas Gomez and his wife, Kathleen L. Gomez of Arvada, CO; a son-in-law, Terence Stewart, of New York City, NY; 22 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Cidelia was a caring, loving, and good person throughout her life. She was a good wife, mother, grandmother, and a person who cared about others. Cidelia was devoted to her family, the Catholic Church, and most of all what God wants all people to be like. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2006 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Leadville CO. Viewing will be from 5:30 p.m. until time of Rosary at the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2006 at Annunciation Catholic Church with Father Jay Jung, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her granddaughter and grandsons. Friends may visit in Albuquerque on Wednesday, May 10, 2006 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel.
