KOLETAR -- Helen Koletar, 91, of Albuquerque, passed away April 22, 2006, after a short illness. Helen was born September 2, 1914 in Portsmouth, OH, to John and Frances Gerlach Held. She grew up in Portsmouth and graduated from East High School and later from Ohio State University. Helen worked as a teacher until World War II when she worked at Curtiss Wright Corporation in Columbus, OH, where she met her husband Frank Koletar. After moving to Albuquerque in 1957, Helen worked as a teacher, in addition to being a homemaker, mother and Girl Scout leader. For many years she was an avid duplicate bridge player. She also had a lifelong interest in health and nutrition and was ahead of her time in her knowledge of alternative medicine. Helen is survived by her husband of 61 years, Frank, son Larry Koletar of Albuquerque; and daughter, Karen Koletar of Sycamore, MO. She also leaves behind wonderful neighbors and friends, especially Grace Hsu and Marvin Pendergrass, whose help and support to the family can never be repaid. Cremation has already taken place and inurnment will be held at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH.
