BEASLEY -- William S. Beasley passed away on April 14, 2006, after a long illness. He is survived by two daughters, Linda Beasley Brewer, and Regina Brunk; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Services will be held May 2, 2006 at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. He will be sorely missed.

BLACK -- Dorothy "Dottie" Black died peacefully after a long illness, at 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2006, at Vistacare Hospice in Albuquerque. She was born Dorothy Clare Scobel in Harwick, PA on December 22, 1931 to Joseph and Bertha Scobel of New Kensington, PA. Graduating from high school as Class Salutatorian in 1949, she joined Gulf Oil in Pittsburgh as an Assistant Geophysicist trainee. She worked in Pittsburgh until 1954 then transferred to the Denver office of Gulf. In 1950 Dottie joined United Air Lines in sales administration at their corporate headquarters at Stapleton Airport. On Christmas Day, 1960 she married Robert Black of Madison, WI in Genoa, NE and in June, 1961 the couple moved to San Francisco where he was employed with Pan Am. On the birth of their first son, David in 1963, she became homemaker and mother. A second son, Eric was born in 1969. She moved numerous times with her family and after their retirement, moved to Albuquerque in 1981. She was a loving wife and mother devoting every waking moment to the welfare of her family. Her hobbies were camping in their RV, sewing and computers. Dottie is survived by her husband, Robert; sons, David of San Francisco, CA and Eric of Albuquerque, NM; a sister, Susan Karan of Webster, MN; and two brothers, John Scobel and Joseph Scobel, Jr. of Pennsylvania. BOLAND -- SISTER JOACHIM BOLAND, C.S.J. (Mary Josephine Boland), a beloved member of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston, MA for 70 years, and of the Bethany Healthcare Community in Framingham, MA, died Thursday April 27, 2006 at Bethany Healthcare Center, Framingham. Daughter of the late William T. and Mary J. (Downes) Boland, she was a teacher formerly missioned at St. Columbkille, Brighton, MA; St. Catherine, Norwood, MA; Our Lady of Grace, Chelsea, MA; a teacher and principal at St. Rose in Santa Rosa, NM. She was also a guidance counselor in Roxbury Catholic Schools, Boston; Director of Personnel, Motherhouse, Brighton; and Prison Ministry in Albuquerque, NM. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She is the sister of the late Rose West, Alice Donnelly, William Boland, O.F.M., Dorothy and Thomas Boland. Visiting hours at St. Joseph Hall, 93 Bethany Rd. Framingham, will be Tuesday from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 - 7 p.m. A Vigil Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, 97 Bethany Road, Framingham. Prayers of Final Commendation will be Tuesday evening following the Funeral Mass. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury, MA. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St., Framingham, MA 01702. BOYER -- Ronald Lee Boyer passed away April 14, 2006 in Huntington Beach, CA, following a short illness. Ron was born August 11, 1937 in Taos, NM and graduated from Taos High School in 1955. Following four years in the U.S. Navy, Ron began a 45-year career in personal and professional finance. Ron was the life of the party whose personality filled every room he was in. His laugh was quick and infectious, and he was a prolific storyteller and teaser - few people escaped Ron's sharp wit, or his twinkling blue eyes. Ron was preceded in death by his younger sister, Sheryl; father, Jack; mother, Mildred; and step-mother, Dorris. He is survived by his beloved wife, Melody; brother, Jeff; children; Kelli Boyer, Greg Boyer, Michelle Davenport, Shelly Boyer, and Sharron Casados; and seven grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at Water of Life Church, Fontana, CA, at 1:30 p.m., Monday, May 1, 2006, with a reception to follow at Upland Hills Country Club, Upland, CA. CAMPBELL -- John Howard Campbell, a resident of Albuquerque since 1934, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2006. He is survived by his son, Kenneth Strong Campbell of Albuquerque. Howard was a 1937 graduate of the University of New Mexico. He was a retired employee of the state of New Mexico, Department of Game & Fish, where he worked as a wildlife biologist for about 35 years. Most of his work involved research and management of the various species of upland game birds in New Mexico. He also had a keen interest in herpetology and generally in the natural sciences. He was recognized as an authority on quail populations. During World War II, he served as an enlisted man in the Army Medical Corps. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no memorial services. COUSENS -- James A. "Jim" Cousens, 60, died peacefully at home on Monday, April 24, 2006. He is survived by his wife, Gail Cousens of the family home; daughters, Jamie Cousens and Emily Cousens both of Albuquerque, NM; six brothers; five sisters; numerous nieces and nephews: and his beloved dog, Marley. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Ken and Ethel Cousens; brother, Stanley and sister, Linda. Jim was employed as a Business Development Manager at Honeywell for twenty years. He was an avid golfer and loved the outdoors. Mr. Cousens was a veteran in the United States Air Force and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. DAVIE -- Nellie A. Davie, 86, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday April 23, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth. Nellie was a retired mathematics teacher who taught in Albuquerque and Rock Island, IL. She will be remembered for her devotion to family, friends, and church, having a positive outreaching spirit and a gift for hospitality. GLOVER -- Mikel Zachary Shilling Glover (Zak), age 17, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2006. He would have turned 18 on April 29. GONZALES -- Claudio (Claude) Gonzales, 83, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2006 surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 24, 1923, a son of Francisco and Inez Carillo Gonzales. He married Lucy Muller, January 12, 1948, in Lamy, NM. Claudio was a second generation railroader with a 40-year career between Santa Fe and Amtrak Railroads. He served in the Army during WWII. He was preceded in death by his son, Edward B. Gonzales and daughter in-law, Elizabeth Sanchez Gonzales. He is survived by his wife, Lucy; his children, Claudio LeRoy Gonzales and wife, Anita, Diana Vallejos and husband, Roger, Terry Suarez, Robert Gonzales and wife, Veronica, Clyde Gonzales, and Barbara Padilla and husband, Albert; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. JACKSON -- Virginia S. Jackson, 89, a resident of Albuquerque for 46 years, peacefully passed this world on Wednesday, April 26, 2006. She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Thurman E. (Jack) Jackson; loving daughter, Terry L. Jackson and son-in-law, James W. Gustafson, all of Albuquerque; brother-in-law, Archie G. Jackson of Laguna Beach, CA; sister-in-law, Velma Taber-Estes of Lee, IL; nephews, Ronald R. Redding, Michael S. Jackson and Gary Taber; one niece, Candace J. Burrows; step-granddaughter, Jennifer F. Gustafson; two stepbrothers; and countless friends, former students, fellow educators, and nursing colleagues nation-wide. Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her adoring father, her sister, mother and stepmother. Active as a Registered Nurse for more than 40 years, Virginia served during WWII in the Army Nurse Corps as a Second Lieutenant, was Professor of Nursing at UNM in the College of Nursing where a faculty office was dedicated in her honor in January 2000, and retired from APS as a School Nurse. She authored the first Nursing Needs Study for the State of NM for the University of Albuquerque, served as President of the NM Nurses Association for two terms, was appointed to author and lobby for NM legislation for nurses (the Nurse Practice Act), and otherwise energetically championed and honorably represented the nursing profession throughout her dynamic career and into retirement. A world traveler known for her intellect, integrity, quick wit, easy smile and devotion to her family, Virginia will be dearly remembered and missed by all those whose lives she touched in a very special way. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, May 4, 2006, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Private family interment will take place at a later date at Santa Fe National Cemetery. KOLETAR -- Helen Koletar, 91, of Albuquerque, passed away April 22, 2006, after a short illness. Helen was born September 2, 1914 in Portsmouth, OH, to John and Frances Gerlach Held. She grew up in Portsmouth and graduated from East High School and later from Ohio State University. Helen worked as a teacher until World War II when she worked at Curtiss Wright Corporation in Columbus, OH, where she met her husband Frank Koletar. After moving to Albuquerque in 1957, Helen worked as a teacher, in addition to being a homemaker, mother and Girl Scout leader. For many years she was an avid duplicate bridge player. She also had a lifelong interest in health and nutrition and was ahead of her time in her knowledge of alternative medicine. Helen is survived by her husband of 61 years, Frank, son Larry Koletar of Albuquerque; and daughter, Karen Koletar of Sycamore, MO. She also leaves behind wonderful neighbors and friends, especially Grace Hsu and Marvin Pendergrass, whose help and support to the family can never be repaid. Cremation has already taken place and inurnment will be held at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH. LOPEZ -- ALFRED L. Dr. Alfred L. Lopez, 90, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died on Thursday, April 27, 2006. He was preceded in death by his son, Dr. Leonard Lopez. Al is survived by his wife of 67 years, Eppie; his children, Dr. Al Lopez, Jr. and wife, Dianne, Dr. Vic Lopez, and Melinda and husband, Bob Langdon; grandchildren, Alfred Lopez, Stacy Bishop (Matt), Chris, Sarah and Olivia Lopez, Richard Lopez (Shawn Cobb), Lesley Kottom (Terry), Jennifer Baxter (Stephen), Kristy Manning (Stephen), Lenny Lopez, Andrew Wheeler, Jackie and Alex Langdon; great-grandchildren, Madison Baxter, Christopher and Chloe Manning; Susie Lopez, Laureen Buro, Jan and Larry Jones, Peggy and Tim Wheeler, Jamie B. Menees and Rose Rivera; and his many extended family members. Dr. Lopez was Past president, Albuquerque District Dental Society and of the NM Dental Society; member of the American Dental Association, NM Dental Society, American Society of Dentistry for Children, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy; member of the board, NM Cancer Society; graduate, University of Kansas City School of Denistry. He was awarded the Sertoma International's First Annual Service to Mankind Award (1955). He also received the Papal Knighthood of St. Gregory from the late Pope Pius XII. As president of the Albuquerque Boys Club, Dr. Lopez and his board of directors were instrumental in building a clubhouse, financed from donations of material, labor and cash from business firms, labor unions, civic club s and private citizens. Dr. Lopez served with the U.S. Army Dental Corps during WWII with the rank of major. Special thanks to Shawn Cobb and Dr. Ray Esquibel (Donna) for all the time and energy devoted to Al's care. LOPEZ -- Gilbert Juan, 59, born in Las Vegas, NM on October 1, 1946, the son of Pablo and Emelia Lopez, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away Wednesday April 26, 2006. He went home to be with our Lord and late wife of 33 years, Angela Lopez. Gilbert is survived by his son, Paul and wife, Monica of Albuquerque; son, James and wife, Kelly of Colorado; and three beautiful grandchildren, Diego, Dominic, and Sammy; brother, Ernie; mother-in-law, Frieda Rael; and several loving family members too many to name. Gilbert was a Vietnam Vet and worked for the City of Albuquerque as the Los Altos Golf Course Superintendent for 25 years. He enjoyed camping and fishing with his family at Conchas and Vallecito Lakes. MASSARA -- Frieda Heywood Massara passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at her home in Rio Rancho after a short illness. She had lived in New Mexico since June 1975. She was the daughter of Frances and Phila Hill Heywood and was born in Groton, Tompkins County, NY, on January 28, 1912. She was educated in Groton schools, graduated in 1934 from SUNY at Potsdam, NY, and received a B.S. at William Paterson College in Paterson, NJ, in 1955. She married Joseph J. Massara on March 20, 1937. She is survived by her two children: Heywood C. Massara and his wife, Carolyn of Brandon, FL, and Virginia-Kay Massara of Tijeras, NM; four grandchildren: James Massara of Norcross, GA, Tamne Robinson and her husband, Brad of Tijeras, NM, Tara Robinson Rodriguez and her husband, Daniel of Fayetteville, NC, and Ty Austin Robinson of Rio Rancho, NM; and nine grandchildren: Joshua and Jonathon Massara of Colorado Springs, CO, Jazmynn Carriaga, Jayde Trujillo, Justyce Robinson, Jaxyon Robinson, Jyara Robinson all of Tijeras, NM, and Ren and Carson Rodriguez of Fayetteville, NC. Frieda spent the greater part of her life teaching school. Her interests and hobbies have been mainly in genealogy. She published two family genealogical books. She held many offices in lineage societies such as Daughters of the American Colonists, Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of Founders and Patriots, The Huguenot Society, Colonial Dames of the XVII Century, First Families of Massachusetts, New England Women, Descendents of Colonial Wars, Magna Charta, The Sovereign Colonial Society of Americans of Royal Descent, The Plantagenet Society, Women Descendents of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company, and the Colonial Order of the Crown. She was a member of Albuquerque Genealogical Society and the founding president of the Sandia Doll Club. A Memorial Service will be held in her honor at Mesa View United Methodist Church on 4200 Meadowlark Lane, SE, Rio Rancho (behind the Wells Fargo Bank on the corner of Jackie and Meadowlark) at 11:00 a.m., May 6, 2006. A Graveside Service will be held at White Lake Cemetery near Gran Quivera, NM, on Sunday, May 7, 2006, after which her ashes will be interred next to her husband's. MELLEKAS -- Andrea Marie Mellekas, 36, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2006 after a long illness. Andrea is survived by her mother, Joan Mellekas; sister, Stefanie DeLeeuw and husband, Don; niece, Erica Bailey; nephew, Sean DeLeeuw; aunts, Renee Lang and Mary Ann Snodgrass; and several cousins and friends. MILLER -- Arnold M. Miller, 89, a resident of Albuquerque for 14 years, made his transition on April 25, 2006. Arnold was born May 22, 1916 near Gilman, IL to James and Ema Miller and grew up in Decatur, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ross; and his beloved wife, of 41 years, Dorothy Marie Cross Miller. Arnold is survived by his son, Steve and wife, Vicki; his granddaughter, Stephanie Davis and her husband, John, all of Albuquerque; and his granddaughter, Sheryl Hennelly and husband, Kevin of Ft. Wayne, IN. Arnold enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1942 and flew 29 missions over Occupied Europe and Germany as a B-17 waist gunner in the 385th Bomb Group of the 8th Air Force. After the war, he worked as a Dept. of the Army civilian in Decatur, IL and at Ft. Huachuca, AZ, retiring there in 1975 as the Post Fire Inspector. He and Dorothy resided in Sun City, AZ. until her passing in 1984. He moved to Albuquerque in 1992 to be near his family. He was a member of the Bear Canyon Fishing Club here. Cremation has taken place and interment will be in the Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. No memorial service will be held per his request. MONTOYA -- Andrew J. Montoya, age 59, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, April 28, 2006 after a long illness. Andrew, a caring brother and friend, was very loving to his family and those he knew. He always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Andrew proudly served in the U.S. Army during with two tours of duty in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1969. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Joe W. Montoya and Veronica "Betty" Montoya; his brother, Richard Montoya; and his sister, Loretta Montoya. Andrew is survived by his brother, Rudy A. Montoya and wife, Cathy; sisters, Rita Edmondson and husband, Troy, Betty Jo Lopez and husband, Bobby, Mercedes Montoya, Barbara Lovato and husband, Constancio; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. PRUITT -- Gerald Pruitt passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2006 in Albuquerque at the age of 56. He was born April 29, 1949 in Dragerton, UT to Harold G. Pruitt Sr. and Marion Roebuck Pruitt. Gerald joined the Marine Corps in 1968 and served one year in Vietnam. Gerald was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Keleher Pruitt; father, Harold G. Pruitt Sr.; and many uncles and aunts. RAUCH -- Kristin Rauch, 53, of Placitas passed away April 27, 2006, in Albuquerque. She was born in Washington, D.C. on June 4, 1952, to C. Stanley and Jean I. Rauch. Kristin's higher education included: baccalaureate and master degrees in Art Education from the University of New Mexico and a doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She was a professor at UNC-Charlotte, and professor and associate dean at SUNY-New Paltz. Kristin is the director of fine arts for Rio Rancho Public Schools and an adjunct professor at UNM. She married Richard Reif in 1983. Kristin is survived by her husband, Richard; mother, Jean I. Rauch; brother, Eric Rauch; son, Richard Reif II and his wife Dana; and three grandchildren, Amber, Samantha, and Richard Joseph Reif III. TOWNSEND -- Iva Lucille Townsend, 90, went home to the Lord on Monday, April 24, 2006, after a short illness. Lucille has resided at Woodmark Assisted Living in Albuquerque, NM for the past five years. She previously lived most of her life in and around Denver, CO. Lucille was active in retired senior citizen volunteer groups for 22 years, was a member of the Avondale Lutheran Church sewing circle in Denver CO for 12 years. Lucille made beautiful quilts and was well known for her unusual color selections. She was a member of the Christ the King Lutheran Church also in Denver, CO. Lucille also lived in West Linn, OR and enjoyed fishing a great deal. She is preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Jessie (Schuyler) Hurt; and her husband, Lyle DeWayne Townsend; one sister, Freeda Cade and one brother, Billie Hurt. Lucille is survived by her loving daughter, Linda Diane Nelson and husband, Terence of Albuquerque, NM; two grandsons; Ryan Galey and wife, Karin of Albuquerque, NM and Reid Galey and wife, Mary Beth of Minnetonka, MN. Lucille is also survived by one brother, Wilbur Hurt and wife Shirley of Longmont, CO; and one sister, Leona Millikan and husband, Charles of Morgansfield, KY. Lucille will be remembered for her sense of humor and her ability to care for others. WEBB -- Marjorie Megarity Webb, 89, died peacefully on April 17, 2006 in Grapevine, TX. She was born in 1916 in Beaumont, TX where her parents, Charles and Vina Megarity owned the Beaumont Music Store. She attended Beaumont High School and later the University of New Mexico where she cultivated an interest in archeology and was a member of the Alpha Gamma chapter of Alpha Chi Omega. She was married to Mendel B. Word, Jr. of Port Arthur, TX and later to Pete Webb. Relocating to Albuquerque, NM in 1959, she spent most of her career as Director of Testing for Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute, where she helped guide thousands of TVI students in their career paths. An avid reader, Marjorie was passionate about international travel and enjoyed collecting the handiwork of many Albuquerque and Santa Fe artists. Always a conversationalist, she was a frequent participant in what seemed to be the Megarity "family sport" of civil argument. She was a unique potato chip cruncher and was known to experiment with her own blended beverages. Fiercely independent, she spent her retirement years in Albuquerque, but with declining health, moved to Grapevine, TX in 2004 to be near her daughter. Marjorie's brother, C. H. Megarity and her sister, Ruth Megarity preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Bethe Word Trigg and son-in-law, John W. Trigg of Grapevine, TX; by her sister, Martha Barker of Nashville, TN; by her grandson, John Mendel Trigg and his wife, Susan Keener Trigg of San Antonio, TX; and by her granddaughter, Ginger Trigg Moore and her husband, Jimmy Moore of Germantown, TN. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren: Jon Paul, Lauren, and Kelly Sullivan of Germantown, TN; and Magdalena and Patrick Trigg of San Antonio, TX.

WIGGINS -- Lloyd George Wiggins, 88, of Rio Rancho, NM, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 26, 2006, with family at his bedside. George, as he was known to all, was born April 24, 1918 in Kiowa, KS to Lloyd and Adeline (Williams) Wiggins. He was raised in Oklahoma and Texas. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps, First Marine Division, during WWII, earning the Silver Star Medal for actions at Guadalcanal. Mr. Wiggins continued to serve his country with a distinguished career in the CIA. He lived for 24 years in Yuma, AZ, where he was an avid car enthusiast with local car clubs and a hospital volunteer. At the time of his death, he lived at Acantilado Vista Retirement Community. The family wishes to thank all the "good ones" who made his last years happy. He was a man of integrity, a man of faith, and will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jenette Wiggins. George is survived by his sister, Lona Pauls of Fresno, CA; son, Paul Wiggins and wife, Sylvia of Yuma, AZ; daughter, Mary Tuttle and husband, Todd, of Albuquerque, and two grandsons, of whom he was extremely proud, Kyle Tuttle and Ryan Tuttle. Service will take place on Monday, May 1, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel.
