METZGAR -- Rebecca Metzgar, 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died on April 11, 2006. She is survived by her daughter, Helene Rood and her husband, Don; son: Karl Metzgar and his wife, Luanna with their son, Kyle, her "one and only"; her brother, Eloy Trujillo and sister, Trudy Tafoya; and many nieces and nephews. Rebecca was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth; her parents: Eloy and Esther Trujillo; her brother, Andy and sisters: Yola and Marcella. Mom enjoyed family and friends gathering in Taos, Santa Fe, and her own backyard. After retiring from Fishback Studio, she looked forward to day trips with her dear friend, Priscilla. In years past, they had taken road trips to Mexico, California and Colorado. Bek was volunteer at New Mexico AIDS Services Food Bank and annually at the AIDS walk. Think of her at sunset, or when you see a contrail cross the sky-she loved to watch the contrails and the colors of the sky. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in her memory to NM AIDS Services Food Bank at 625 Truman NE, 87110 or a charity of your choice.
