LUCERO -- Margaret Ulibarri Lucero, age 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 19, 2006 at the home of her daughter, Theresa, in Albuquerque, NM. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Luis A. Lucero; her parents, Juan Ulibarri and Onofre Ulibarri; her sister, Beatrice Baca; brothers, Ubaldo Ulibarri, Arthur Ulibarri, and Prudencio Ulibarri. She is survived by her daughters, Theresa Lucero and partner, Helen Trujillo, Patricia Ytuarte and husband, Edward; sons, Anthony Lucero and wife, Janell, Marcel Lucero and wife, Eleanor; grandchildren, Paul Ytuarte, Kenneth Ytuarte, Bryan Ytuarte, Gabe Lucero, Nick Lucero, Emily Lucero, Marcel Lucero Jr., and Stewart Lucero, great-grandchildren, Alex Ytuarte and Thalia Ytuarte. Her brother, Juanito Ulibarri; sister, Mary Gonzales; and sisters-in-law, Marion Ulibarri, Alice Gomez, and Virginia Lucero also survive her. Margaret and Louie were married March 23, 1944 in Santa Fe, NM. She was a lifelong member of the Republican Party and was elected Santa Fe County Clerk November 2, 1948 and served two terms. She and Louie moved their family to Los Alamos in 1953 where President Eisenhower appointed her Post Mistress in 1957. She served as Post Mistress for 25 years and retired in 1982. Louie and Margie moved to Rio Rancho in 1994. The family of Margaret wish to express a special thanks to Helen Trujillo for the many days and hours of loving care given to our Mother. To Dr. Richard Moore, Mary Gutierrez, Barbara Lepori, and Heartland Hospice thank you for the countless hours of devotion. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. at Rosario Chapel with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. The Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 23, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi. Interment will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers: Paul Ytuarte, Kenneth Ytuarte, Bryan Ytuarte, Alex Ytuarte, Marcel Lucero, Jr., and Stewart Lucero.
