TOVAR -- Evaristo M. Tovar born in Dawson, New Mexico to Higinio and Carmen (Martinez) Tovar on October 26, 1918, "Vayo" as he was known to his Dawson friends, passed away on the morning of the 19 of February 2006 at Moreno Valley Hospital in California. Evaristo was one of nine children. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Genevieve Trujillo, his parents, his siblings: Gerardo, Agueda Pacheco, Socorro Lopez, Dionicio, Vidal and Pedro. He is survived by his sons, Patricio ( wife Kathy), Dan and his grandchildren, Lennea Novak, Ian & Kyle Tovar and great grandson, Dan Tovar, his sisters, Felicitas Martinez and family from Denver, Colorado and Petra Sanchez and family from Albuquerque, NM and many nieces and nephews. Evaristo graduated from Dawson High School and in 1941 moved to California. He retired from Hormel Foods after 32 years. A memorial mass will be celebrated on March 25, 2006 at St. Christopher's Catholic Church where he was a very active parishioner. He will be missed at the Moreno Valley Senior Center where he spent his time participating in exercise groups, playing billiards and bingo. His sisters will miss his regular weekly Sunday afternoon calls. May he rest in peace.
