COLE -- Delores (Dee) Armijo Cole, a native of Albuquerque, went to be with her beloved Jesus on Friday, February 24, 2006. She is survived by her spouse, Wally Cole; daughter, Carla Torres of West Hills, CA; daughter, Ana Torres-Brooks and husband, Gene of Albuquerque; daughter, Brynda Brodie and husband, Mark of Temecula, CA; son, Barry Cole of Albuquerque; and step-children, Gary Cole and wife, Michelle of Crestline, CA, Bryce Cole of Crestline, CA, Robert Cole and wife, Vikki of Albuquerque, and Vanessa Cole and husband, Guy of Truth or Consequences; brothers, Larry and Raymond Schultz of Albuquerque, and Steve and wife, Linda of San Diego, CA. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Delores was preceded in death by her father, Alfonso; her mother and step-father, William and Paula Schultz. A native of Albuquerque, she traced her heritage back to the Colonial Spanish entrance into New Mexico in the year 1600. She completed all twelve grades of schooling at the old St. Vincent Academy. After graduating, she spent some time in La Jolla, CA near her beloved ocean. While there she worked for Scripps-Howard as a tour guide. Returning to New Mexico she took numerous secretarial courses and pursued a career as a legal secretary, later becoming a paralegal. At one point in her career she worked for New Mexico Senator Joseph Montoya, traveling between his Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and Washington DC offices. A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW. Services will be held at Sandia Presbyterian Church, 10704 Paseo del Norte NE, on Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will follow. Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made on behalf of Dee Cole to Vista Care Hospice Foundation, 5639 Jefferson St. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109.
