ALLMAN -- Gavin Thomas Allman, age 22, a life-long resident of Albuquerque, was lost in a tragic automobile accident Saturday, February 25, 2006. Gavin had a tender heart and a loving soul. He was a 2001 graduate of Manzano High School; received his degree in Criminal Justice at TVI in December, 2005. Gavin's hobbies were working on cars, enjoying music and movies, and he had a special love for animals. He had a very close group of friends and was deeply loved by all who knew him. Gavin is survived by his dear parents, Ron and Peggy Allman; his beloved sister, Nicole and a special niece, Jenieva; his wonderful grandparents, Lenita Potter, Stan Potter and Carolyn Allman; many uncles, aunts, and cousins; and his girlfriend, Thoa (Kim) Pham. BROTHERTON -- JEROLD H. Brian Baker and his wife, Tracie would like to notify friends of the demise of his grandfather, Jerold H. Brotherton on Wednesday, February 22, 2006. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rebecca Catherine Brotherton (nee Riggs); his children, Linda Sue Baker of Albuquerque and Charles William Brotherton of Colorado Springs, CO; and his nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Jerold was born on February 4, 1921 in Carrollton, MO. Professionally he was involved in the food industry, starting two different food establishments in the Albuquerque metro area. He spent the last 30 years of his career as a ranch manager in Placitas. But, closest to his heart was his spiritual life. He symbolized his dedication to his God on July 2, 1949. He was a minister of Jehovah's Witnesses for 57 years in several congregations. His skills and talents in food service coordination and cooking allowed him to be used at large conventions of Jehovah's Witnesses where he would cook for thousands in a timely and efficient manner. He was a common sight in the cook tents on the weekends when any congregation in the southwest would be building a new Kingdom Hall. The kind and empathetic care given him during his last year by Quality Continuum Hospice is gratefully acknowledged by his whole family. French Mortuary is taking care of the final arrangements. The Funeral will be held on March 4, 2006, 3 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, at 8904 Menaul NE, in Albuquerque.

CHAVEZ -- Tommy B. Chavez, Sr., age 72, of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord Friday, February 24, 2006. Tommy was a retired Teamster with Yellow Freight. He loved spending time with his family who meant the world to him. He also had a passion for playing golf and poker (the game that he loved to hate!). He is survived by daughter, Yvonne Velasquez and husband, Juan; son, Tommy Chavez, Jr. and wife, Hope; Deborah Legnon and husband, Mike; daughter, Charlene Chavez and husband, Ken Antoszek; and son, Dennis Chavez; grandchildren, Charlie and wife, Dinah, Anthony, Carlos, Monique, Denise, Rebekah; great-grandson, Aidan; brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. Mr. Chavez was preceded in death by his wife, Christina, of 44 years. Pallbearers will be sons-in-law and grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters. COLE -- Delores (Dee) Armijo Cole, a native of Albuquerque, went to be with her beloved Jesus on Friday, February 24, 2006. She is survived by her spouse, Wally Cole; daughter, Carla Torres of West Hills, CA; daughter, Ana Torres-Brooks and husband, Gene of Albuquerque; daughter, Brynda Brodie and husband, Mark of Temecula, CA; son, Barry Cole of Albuquerque; and step-children, Gary Cole and wife, Michelle of Crestline, CA, Bryce Cole of Crestline, CA, Robert Cole and wife, Vikki of Albuquerque, and Vanessa Cole and husband, Guy of Truth or Consequences; brothers, Larry and Raymond Schultz of Albuquerque, and Steve and wife, Linda of San Diego, CA. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Delores was preceded in death by her father, Alfonso; her mother and step-father, William and Paula Schultz. A native of Albuquerque, she traced her heritage back to the Colonial Spanish entrance into New Mexico in the year 1600. She completed all twelve grades of schooling at the old St. Vincent Academy. After graduating, she spent some time in La Jolla, CA near her beloved ocean. While there she worked for Scripps-Howard as a tour guide. Returning to New Mexico she took numerous secretarial courses and pursued a career as a legal secretary, later becoming a paralegal. At one point in her career she worked for New Mexico Senator Joseph Montoya, traveling between his Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and Washington DC offices. A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW. Services will be held at Sandia Presbyterian Church, 10704 Paseo del Norte NE, on Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will follow. CONNER -- Jasper Conner, Sr., age 83, a long-time resident of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 25, 2006. Mr. Conner was president of ABC Mechanical before his retirement and was owner of Conner Plumbing in Roswell and White Rock. He served his country in WWII with the Air Force; he was a Mason and a member of Evangel Christian Center where he served on the Board of Trustees and the Board of Deacons. Mr. Conner is known for his generosity and his many philanthropic donations. Jasper was survived by his wife, Fran; his children, Jasper Conner, Jr. and Vivian J. Chavez; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 62 years, Ethel and daughter, Mary. CRAVENS -- Gayle Hall Cravens, 81, a resident of Elephant Butte, NM for four months, died on February 20, 2006 from complications caused by several chronic diseases. She was born on January 27, 1925 in Chickashaw, OK to Russell Sylvan Thompson and Elizabeth (Austin) Thompson. Gayle was a resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1956 and moved to Elephant Butte, NM four months ago. She and her husband, Jack, helped in the creation of Los Altos Christian Church on the east side of Albuquerque. She was an exceptional bridge player and won many tournaments and trophies through the years. Gayle was a travel agent for eight years. She also did a lot of sewing and quilting and made many beautiful quilts through the years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Gayle is survived by four children - sons - Tom Hall of Arlington, TX and Dave Hall of Sacramento, CA; daughters - Melinda Gibson and husband, John, of Tularosa, NM, and Marilyn Haynie and husband, John, of TorC, NM; grandchildren - Laurie Van Tatenhove of Denver, CO and Michelle and Michael Hall of Sacramento, CA; sister-in-law - Jean Thompson of El Paso, TX. ELY -- Kathryn "Katy" Lou McIntosh Ely, 82, was born on Tuesday, April 10, 1923 and passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2006. She is survived by six children, David Ely, Todd Ely and wife, Terry, Melissa Ely Martinez and husband, Louis, all of Albuquerque, Erin Ely and Doug Bielefeldt of Eugene OR, Therese Ely-Schmitter and husband, Dan of Seattle, WA and Laura Ely of San Diego, CA; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and brother, Burns Geddes McIntosh, Jr. and wife, Jeanne of Albuquerque. She was born and raised in Albuquerque and lived in the Country Club area and was a supporter of Downtown. Katy attended Miss Willy's Happy School, Washington Jr. High School, Sandia School for girls, Ward Belmont School for Young Ladies in Nashville, TN and graduated from Albuquerque High School. She went on with her education at the University of New Mexico and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts in 1945. At UNM she was very active in the Rodey Theatre activities and was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. During her younger years she was a tap and toe dancer with Mrs. Knight's Dancing School. Before her illness, Katy was especially fond of spending her summers in her condo in Cannon Beach, OR, where she had many friends. Being interested in politics, Katy was active with the Republican Party, she was involved with David Cargo's Gubenatorial campaign. She ran for office for the APS Board and State House of Representatives. Katy was very active in the Arts Community and served on the New Mexico Arts Commission for many years having been appointed first by Gov. David Cargo, then re-appointed by Gov. Bruce King. She was active in the Junior League of Albuquerque for many years and loved to play bridge with her friends. Katy enjoyed traveling and never missed a party, she loved socializing with her friends and family. She had many friends and was especially proud of her children and grandchildren, and all of their accomplishments. A visitation was held on Sunday, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at later date. FUNNELL -- James Wesley Funnell Sr., 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1980, died Saturday, February 25, 2006. He was born June 5, 1925 in Abernathy, TX to Arthur and Mollie (McBride) Funnell. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Geraldine Funnell; daughter, Mary Lou Dencklau and husband, Les; sons, James Funnell Jr. and wife, Karen, Dale Funnell and wife, Melissa, and Jerry Funnell and wife, Paula; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters. James was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who made Christ the center of his life. He served as a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. After 40 years, James retired as Director of Manufacturing at Rainbo Baking Company. GARLAND -- Norma Gene Garland, 73, a resident of Sandia Park, NM, died Friday, February 24, 2006. Norma Garland, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, is survived by her son, Bryan Garland and wife, Melissa of Firestone, CO; three daughters, Naomi Lisby of Littleton, CO, Marlena Garland and husband, Federico Ciampa of Los Angeles, CA and Mary Lavina Garland of Sandia Park; grandchildren, Leslie Devonshire, Quintin Mahan, Dainera Mahan, Zane Ciampa, Isabella Ciampa, William Daniel Garland, and Hannah Garland; sisters, Freda Beam and husband, J. L Beam and Elaine Clarence and husband, Wesley Clarence; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Robert Garland in 1987; son, William Earl Garland in 2004; mother, Millie Louvina Bassett Farmer in 1981; father, Fredrick Lee Farmer in 1959; and sister, Dorothy Evelyn Farmer in 1942. Mrs. Garland was a school bus driver for twenty eight years for Mountain Bus Company. She was awarded Albuquerque Public Schools' School Bus Driver of the Month in February 1989 and also School Bus Driver of the year for 1989. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. We will remember her for her quiet strength and beautiful soul. HODOCK -- Joseph M. Hodock, age 59, died Friday, February 24, 2006 after a valiant battle with leukemia. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Maureen; his children, Michael, Stephen, Katharine, Analiese, and John; his mother, Mary Hodock; sisters, Barbara Hodock, Teresa Hodock, Suzie Duff, husband, Lee; nephew, Colin Duff, wife, Heidi, their son, Tristin; and niece, Megan Schuller, husband, Robert. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Hodock. Joseph lived in Albuquerque for over 50 years. He graduated from St. Pius X High School, class of 1964; Creighton University in 1968; Master's Degree UNM in 1978. Major Hodock served in the U.S. Army for six years with the 2nd Armored Cavalry and 15 years with the Army Reserves. Joe is well known in the insurance community throughout the Southwest. Joe was an active member of Our Lady of Annunciation Parish and was actively involved with his children at St. Pius X. MCNAMARA -- Teresa McNamara, 92, of Clearwater, FL died February 16, 2006 at Comprehensive Healthcare of Clearwater. She was born in New York City. She lived in Albuquerque for 30 years and moved to Clearwater in 2004. Survivors include two daughters, Rita McNamara of Clearwater and Nancy McNamara of New York City; and a granddaughter. MORTENSEN -- Norma Louise Mortensen, 72 and a resident of Rio Rancho, died February 22, 2006. She was born February 22, 1934, in Sedan, IA, to John Marvin and Annabelle West. Except for a couple of years working at various companies, Norma's joy was being a housewife and mother. She loved to crochet and embroider. She would embrace a good romance novel at times as well, but the thing for which she will most be remembered is her love for her family. She lived her life as an angel and her family will greatly miss her. To Mother: We will always love you and look forward to our reunion. Norma is survived by her husband of 52 years, Herman A. PALMER -- Dorothy May Palmer, a resident of Bosque Farms, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2006 at Presbyterian Hospital. She was born on January 27, 1919 in Minnesota to Harvey and Agnes Landis. Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Shirley Becker of Bosque Farms and Karen McCole of Las Cruces; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burwin Palmer. Dorothy was a medical records clerk for Presbyterian Hospital, retiring in 1986. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Belen. PRITCHETT -- Virgil Pritchett 1933 - 2006 Virgil went to be with our lord on Febuary 21, 2006 in Riverside, CA. He is survived by his children: Virgil Jr. of Riverside, Carol Howe of Riverside, CA, and Robert Pritchett of Albuquerque; four grandchildren, Letecia Kock, Patrick and Garrett McCall, and Gunnar Howe; one great-granddaughter, Charis Caroline Kock, all of Riverside, CA; his step-daughter, Bonnie June Shivers of Las Vegas, NM; his sister and brother in law, Phyllis and Robert McConkie of Las Cruses, NM; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a very dear friend, Ramona Garcia of Albuquerque. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, he served many years in the United Methodist Mens Conference, president for 5 years. He worked many years serving his community; he worked for Goodwill Industries from 1966-1979 then for the Store House in Albuquerque from 1980-1994 until he retired, he then began to volunteer anything and everything to his many friends in Albuquerque, and especially the Encino House.

VELEZ -- Brianna Velez, 13 days old, passed away February 23, 2006. She is survived by her mother, Elodia Marrufo; father, Juan Velez; sister, Adriana Velez; grandparents, Sandra, Mario, Maria, and Ramon; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. WOODBURY -- Sasantie Marie Woodbury died, shortly after her birth, February 25, 2006 in Albuquerque, NM. She was the infant daughter of Christina Mercedes Woodbury. In addition to her mother, Sasantie is survived her grandmother, Maria Lydia Avendano of Albuquerque; grandfather, Steven Woodbury of Rio Rancho; aunt, Cindy Wilcox; great- aunts, Carolyn Newton and Beverly Woodbury; and Christina's Godparents, Donny and Andrea Lovato. Mass of the Angels will be celebrated 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd S.E. in Rio Rancho.
