CHAVEZ -- Tommy B. Chavez, Sr., age 72, of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord Friday, February 24, 2006. Tommy was a retired Teamster with Yellow Freight. He loved spending time with his family who meant the world to him. He also had a passion for playing golf and poker (the game that he loved to hate!). He is survived by daughter, Yvonne Velasquez and husband, Juan; son, Tommy Chavez, Jr. and wife, Hope; Deborah Legnon and husband, Mike; daughter, Charlene Chavez and husband, Ken Antoszek; and son, Dennis Chavez; grandchildren, Charlie and wife, Dinah, Anthony, Carlos, Monique, Denise, Rebekah; great-grandson, Aidan; brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. Mr. Chavez was preceded in death by his wife, Christina, of 44 years. Pallbearers will be sons-in-law and grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters. A Rosary will be recited Monday, February 27, 2006, at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary Westside Chapel. A Funeral Mass will celebrated Tuesday, February 28, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Road SE, in Rio Rancho with Rev. Msgr. Douglas A. Raun officiating.
