SANCHEZ -- Jane Calvin Sanchez, 76, born to James Frank and Ruth Goodkind Calvin on April 27, 1929, suddenly and unexpectedly left this world to be with the Lord on February 12, 2006. She is survived by her children: Philip L. Sanchez of Las Vegas, NV, Sandra C. Sanchez, Anne Sanchez Mitchell and husband, Fred, and Patricia Elena Sanchez, all of Albuquerque; grandson, Travers Mitchell and Jacey DePriest of Telluride, CO; sisters-in-law, Mary Calvin of Colorado Springs, CO and Mary Isabel Hoffman of Santa Fe, NM; brother-in-law, Jose M. Sanchez and wife, Carol, of Santa Fe, NM; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces; as well as countless friends. Jane was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Manuel P. "Pat" Sanchez; and her brother, James F. Calvin, Jr. She was raised in Cerrillos and remained a ranch girl at heart. She did exhaustive research and voluminous writings on Spanish Land Grants and New Mexico history. Jane was active in the New Mexico Historical Society, Cerrillos Hills Park Coalition, The Westerners, The New Mexico Jewish Historical Society, the Glenwood Hills Citizen's Patrol, as well as being an active member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Community. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Rosary will take place at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, on Thursday, February 16, 2006, 7:00 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Community, 12500 Carmel Ave, NE on Friday, February 17, 2006, 10:00 a.m., co-celebrated by Fathers Michael J. Shea and Antonio Mondragon. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date.
