HALL -- James S. "Papa" Hall, age 94, a resident of the Albuquerque area since 1954, went home to be with his Lord, Friday, November 4, 2005. Jim and his family came to New Mexico from Texas in 1915 by covered wagon. He grew up around Hatch and helped to build the high school from which he graduated. He lived the real cowboy life until he began his career as a Greyhound bus driver, from which he retired in 1975. During WWII, he was a master sergeant in the Army-Air Corps where he helped to reconfigure a P-51 Mustang named "Stars Look Down" for Gen. Eisenhower for his first trip over the European war zone. Of all of the achievements in his life, the greatest was his family. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy; a son, Kent Hall and his wife, Linda; two granddaughters, Amy Kerr and her husband, Isaac and Jill Hall. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, November 7, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of West Albuquerque 6400 Golf Course Rd. NW, with Dr. Tim Marrow, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Albuquerque Christian Children's Home 5700 Winterhaven Rd. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120 or Presbyterian Kaseman Hospice In-Patient Unit PO 26666, Albuquerque, NM 87125.
