KITE -- John W. Kite, 81, passed away October 13, 2005. He is survived by his brother, James Kite and his wife, Marcella; his six children, John Barry Kite and his wife, Peggy, Roger Kite and his wife, Diana, Kenneth Kite, Lindsey Kite and his wife, Alyson, Kelley Kite, Tamra Kite and her husband, Marty Richardson. John is also survived by his six grandchildren, Roger Kite II, Kristofor Kite and his wife, Karen, Sonya Kite, Regina and her husband, Stewart O'Challaghan, Elizabeth Kite, Donovan Kite and his wife, Christy. John also had boasting rights to great-grandchildren, Preston Kite and John Paul Kite. John was preceded in death by his wife Elfrieda "Geri" Kite. John established Kite Optical in 1973. With the help of his wife Geri and sons Lindsey and Kelley, they provided for the wholesale optical needs of optometrists throughout the state of New Mexico. John later sold Kite optical and retired in 1997. John was a World War II veteran. John was a generous man, a good husband and father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. His keen ability to detect when the wind was blowing will be sorely missed. God speed and say hello to Geri for us. We will miss you. Viewing and Services will be held at Fitzgerald and Son Mortuary 3113 Carlisle Blvd NE Viewing October 20, 2005 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Services October 21, 2005 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery
