BARROW -- Robert G. Barrow, Sr., 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1952, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2005. He was born on May 20, 1914 in Dresden, MO. He grew up and went through school in Calhoun, MO. He served in the United States Navy for twenty years and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He is an Albuquerque Public Schools Retiree and longtime member of La Mesa Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his son, Robert G. Barrow, Jr.; four grandchildren, Nusara Kast and husband, Brian, Narong Sara Phon, Perry Barrow, and Ranee Barrow; two great-granddaughters, Keana and Jadean Kast; one great-grandson, Alan Sara Phon; and former daughter-in-law, Pat Barrow. BIRO -- Frank Biro Jr., "Purple Man", passed away suddenly on October 15, 2005. Frank was preceded in death by his beloved mother and father, Frank and Eleanor Biro. He is survived by his sister, Maureen Hodock and her husband, Joe; nieces Katharine, Analiesa; nephews, Michael, Stephen and John. Frank was a resident of Albuquerque since 1952. He attended Albuquerque High School; he was a very unique person. He loved dogs and the color "purple" whereas he got the nickname. Frank has returned home to our Lord, he will be so missed by many, especially best friends, Paul, David; and his beloved doggies, Meanie and Freckles; and by the Carpenter family. CARLTON -- Randall A. Carlton Albuquerque, NM - October 12, 2005. Born September 7, 1955 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Bob and Marjorie Carlton. Survived by his mother and step-father, Marjorie and Carroll Meyer of Kansas City, MO; two sisters, Roberta Jane Carlton of Austin, TX and Linda Chrane of San Antonio, TX; a nephew, Rex West of Big Rapids, MI; a niece, Kristine Ferrara of Kansas City, MO; two great-nieces, Paige Reed and Lily Ferrara; step-brothers and sister; partner, Michael Barela; and a host of loving friends. In 2001, Randy moved to Albuquerque, NM where he worked as Promotion Manager for Eco Water at Universal Water Systems. CISNEROS -- MANUELITA. Mrs. Manuelita Cisneros, 70, a resident of Los Lunas, NM passed away on October 18, 2005 peacefully at home with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Cisneros is the beloved wife to Mr. Frank Cisneros, married for 43 years. Mrs. Cisneros is also survived by her loving children, Margaret Martinez, Frank Cisneros Jr., Evangeline Cisneros and Dutch Dibble, Corinne Cisneros, Ray Cisneros and wife, Bernice; one sister, Jessie Valdez; five grandchildren, Maria Elena, Julianna, Felicia, Samantha, and Ashley; one great-grandson, Alexzander; one aunt, Lena Hernandez and husband, Victorio; one nephew, Eddie Hernandez and wife, Oralia; one niece, Irene; many other extended family and friends. Mrs. Cisneros was a member of the Catholic Church. A visitation for Mrs. Cisneros will be Friday evening from 5:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tome, NM with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. by Deacon Lorenzo Castillo. DENTON -- Darrell Drew of Collinsville, OK (69) born April 1, 1936, died in the early morning of October 14th 2005, after a short illness. Darrell went to be with Our Lord. HARDEKOPF -- Celia M. Hardekopf, a resident of Albuquerque passed away Sunday, October 16, 2005 following a lengthy illness. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Jim; children, Christopher of Albuquerque, Ben of Austin, TX, and Laura and husband, Paul Rucker and son, Clark of Belen; mother, Sarah Mullane; and sisters, Carolyn Price and Kathy Romine; and brother, Jim Mullane, all of Florida. Celia was a wonderful and devoted wife and mother, enthusiastic and cheerful. In her last years she faced her chronic debilitating illness with bravery and determination. She loved people. HRENAK -- Joseph R. Hrenak, (Chief Master Sergeant, U.S. Air Force (Ret.) died unexpectedly at home, at the age of 69 on October 15, 2005. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kathleen "Kathie"; daughter, Joanna; mother,Dorothy of Milwaukee, WI; brothers, Al Krueger (Sandy) of Milwaukee, WI, Vincent (Beth) of McKinney, TX, James (Lisa) of Las Vegas, NV; and sisters, Beverly Wilinski of Milwaukee, WI, Janice Vernon (Ron) of Las Cruces, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joe's 38 years of military service included 33 years of proud service with the New Mexico Air National Guard. He retired as the Aircraft Maintenance Superintendent and served in Vietnam as well as numerous deployments with the NMANG. He received many medals and honors including the AF Commendation Medal and Senior NCO of the Year, he also attended the Senior NCO Academy and was a member of their NCO Graduate Association. After retirement he continued to enjoy life including RVing, car racing and being bossed around by his cat, Moochie. He was a treasured friend to so many. He will be greatly missed. KITE -- John W. Kite, 81, passed away October 13, 2005. He is survived by his brother, James Kite and his wife, Marcella; his six children, John Barry Kite and his wife, Peggy, Roger Kite and his wife, Diana, Kenneth Kite, Lindsey Kite and his wife, Alyson, Kelley Kite, Tamra Kite and her husband, Marty Richardson. John is also survived by his six grandchildren, Roger Kite II, Kristofor Kite and his wife, Karen, Sonya Kite, Regina and her husband, Stewart O'Challaghan, Elizabeth Kite, Donovan Kite and his wife, Christy. John also had boasting rights to great-grandchildren, Preston Kite and John Paul Kite. John was preceded in death by his wife Elfrieda "Geri" Kite. John established Kite Optical in 1973. With the help of his wife Geri and sons Lindsey and Kelley, they provided for the wholesale optical needs of optometrists throughout the state of New Mexico. John later sold Kite optical and retired in 1997. John was a World War II veteran. John was a generous man, a good husband and father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. His keen ability to detect when the wind was blowing will be sorely missed. God speed and say hello to Geri for us. We will miss you. LUCERO -- Sigfredo T. Lucero, age 81, died Monday, October 17, 2005 at a local nursing home. He is survived by his children, Pearl Lucero of Los Angeles, CA, David Lucero of Austin, TX, and Yolanda Lucero of Hood River, OR; and their mother, Carmelita Lucero of Los Angeles, CA. He is also survived by five sisters, Gloria Fajardo, Nena Maduena, Josie Mar, Linda Buckley, and Barbara Lucero; all of Stockton, CA; a brother; Tony Lucero of Placitas, NM. Mr. Lucero also has three granddaughters, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews that meant a great deal to him. Sigfredo was preceded in death by Juan A. and Josephita T. Lucero; brother, John Lucero; and sisters, Carmen, Cano and Elsie Clark. He was loved by his many cousins and friends. Mr. Lucero enjoyed horseback riding, cooking, dancing and Mariachi music. He has a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II and the in South Pacific Theater. MOYA -- Ramon G. Moya, a longtime resident of Old Town, passed away at the age of 88 on Tuesday, October 18, 2005. Ramon served in the United States Armed Forces and was an Army Veteran, having served in WWII. He was then a Civil Service Retiree from Kirtland Air Force Base. Ramon was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Sylvia and son, Joseph. He is survived by his loving children, Roger and wife, Mary of Highland, CA, Gilbert and wife, Josie of Henderson, NV, Raymond Jr. and wife, Veronica of Las Cruces, NM, and Jennie and husband, Joe of Albuquerque, NM; eight grandchildren, Shelly, Stephanie, JimmyRay, Melissa, Marissa, Adrianna, Roxanne, and Erika; four great-grandchildren, Lorena, Marcus, Aliyah, and Adrianna. NELSON -- Wade Nelson, 54, of Albuquerque, NM, died Saturday, October 15, 2005 at home. He is survived by his sister, Nancy Rullestad of Boone, IA; two nieces, Kelly Hinrichs of Altoona, IA and Lisa Oxenford of Des Moines, IA. He is also survived by his son, Jeremy Nelson and a granddaughter, Emma C. Nelson, both of Albuquerque, NM. Wade inspired deep and lasting relationships and was blessed with a large extended family of friends. Wade was the General Manager of Karl Malone Toyota in Albuquerque for many years. His interests included golf, tennis, scuba diving, and collecting electronic gadgets. Wade was very involved with many community projects and research and treatment of various illnesses. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at the French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2005. PAGE -- Lillian Haynie Page, age 91, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2005, at her home and surrounded by her loving family. Lillian was born in Albuquerque, on August 26, 1914 to Ethel McCrary Haynie and James Henry Haynie who met on a wagon train to New Mexico in the early 1900s. Her grandparents were Samuel and Tenny C. McCrary. Lillian attended school in New Mexico, Arizona, and California, graduating from high school in Fresno, CA. She attended Fresno State College for one year before transferring to the University of New Mexico, where she received her BA in 1935. Lillian received her MA from the University of California, Berkeley in 1938 and continued her education at the University of Virginia. Lillian first taught in a one-room schoolhouse in Mcgaffey, NM where she taught 39 children from grades 1 to 8. She later taught school in Gallup, New Mexico, California, Texas, Virginia, and Italy. Lillian became an Army wife in 1938 and was with her husband, Gordon Benjamin Page, and her oldest son, James, at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked on December 7, 1941. She traveled widely with her husband and five sons and especially enjoyed their four years living in Italy. There she learned to speak Italian, studied the accordion, and refined her Italian cooking, which she fondly pursued for the remainder of her life. She and her husband, Gordon B. Page, reared five sons, James Gordon Page, Michael Lynn Page, Christopher Lee Page, Lochlin Scott Page, and Jonathan Tolliver Page. In 1970, after Gordon's retirement as a Colonel in the regular Army Corps of Engineers, they returned to Albuquerque where Lillian became very active in the Senior Centers when Palo Duro first opened in 1974. She was a wife, mother, teacher, ceramicist, potter, weaver, knitter and affectionate role model. She loved her family dearly and the greatest joy of her life was being with them and her friends. She passed on her love of beauty, music, flowers and life to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher, and her husband, Gordon. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-laws, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, Willow, Pepper, and James. A Memorial Service will be held at Thursday, October 20, 2005, at 2:00 p.m., at Central United Methodist Church, 1615 Copper Ave. NE. Interment of cremains will take place Friday, November 4, 2005, at 1:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. RIGANO -- Florence Rigano, 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughters and granddaughters on Monday, October 17, 2005. Florence was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, which, along with her faith, provided her much comfort in her final days. Mrs. Rigano was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Angelo Rigano. Florence is survived by her four children, Shirley DeThomas, Donald Rigano, Judi Reifschneider, and Traci Rigano; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2005 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. by the St. Thomas Aquinas Alter and Rosary Society in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 20, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd., Rio Rancho, with Fr. ROARK -- Elisha L. Roark, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, October 11, 2005, at the VA Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Marie (Coburn) Roark of the family home; children, Wanda and James Costello of Aztec, NM, Barbara Pope of Macon, GA, Robert Coburn and Roger and Janet Coburn, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Michael and Julie Costello of Pueblo, CO, Colleen Smith (deceased) of Macon, GA, John and Nancy Pope of Leominster, MA and Lorie Coburn of Albuquerque; great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Stacey, Joshua Costello, Leeann and Krista Deyo and brother, Ricky Smith, Marilyn and Stephanie Pope, Ashley, Steven, Tommy Sherwood; one brother, Noah Roark of Evarts, KY. Mr. Roark was preceded in death by his father, James C. Roark; mother, Millie J. Roark, both of Harlan, KY; and sister, Carrie Campbell of Dayton, OH. Mr. Roark was born on October 9, 1913 in Roark, KY. He graduated from Harlan High School in Harlan, KY. Mr. Roark served the U.S. Army from 1935 and retired with 25 years of service in 1965. He received many citations and honors. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, VFW, American Legion and the Military Order of the Cootie. Not a day went by at the Roark's without the American flag flying high from their flag pole. Les, as he was known by family and friends, was a loving husband, dad and grandfather and will be deeply missed. TABET -- John E. Tabet, 89, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2005, at Lovelace Medical Center. John was born in Manzano, NM, May 27, 1916, to Elias and Anisa Tabet, immigrants to America from Lebanon at the turn of the last century. John was the seventh of twelve children. Eight preceded him in death. John served in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He was one of five brothers serving during the war making his mother "A Five Star Mother". John retired from Sandia Base in 1975, after more than thirty years of Federal Service. John was preceded in death by his wife, Frances (Garcia) Tabet and a daughter, Rose Marie Tabet. John is survived by his son, Edward V. Tabet and wife, Violet; daughter, Theresa (Tabet) Burns and husband, Samuel, all of Albuquerque; three granddaughters: Debra Tabet, Denise Jeschke and husband, Roger of Arizona, and Darlene Maynard and husband, Michael of California; two grandsons, Jeffery and Gregory Burns of California; and four great-grandchildren. John is also survived by two sisters, Susie Anderson and Lita Tabet; and one brother, Pete Tabet, all of California; and numerous nieces and nephews. WARD -- Genevieve M. Ward, 81, went home to Jesus Sunday, October 16, 2005. Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband, Claudy Ward and daughter, Joyce Ormonde. Survivors include daughters, JoAnn Miller and husband, Clyde, Janet Ward and husband, Steve Zamora; grandchildren, Kathy Skalbeck, Kay Lee Currier, Jennifer Rosenthal, and Corey Rosenthal; great-grandchildren, JoHannah, Ty, and Josh Skalbeck, Brandon and Morgan Currier; sister, Frances Peckumn and husband, Dale; nieces, Pam, Sarah, and Betty; nephew, Dale; cousins, Wanita McGlothlin and Loren Blakely. WELKER -- Kenneth E. Welker passed away on Tuesday October 18, 2005. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Jean Welker; son, Kenneth Welker and wife, Susan; grandchildren, Wendy Rue and husband, Sander, Kenly Smith and husband, Dallas, Jim Welker and companion, Kathi Ward and Angela McGovern and husband, KC; and 11-great grandchildren. Kenneth retired from Rich Ford after 24 years of service. He proudly served in the U.S. Marines during WWII was at Iwo Jima during the flag raising. Mr. Welker was also an avid motorcycle enthusiast. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2005. A Funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Sunrise Funeral Options. WENDT -- Gerald E. Wendt passed away on October 17, 2005. Mr. Wendt is survived by his daughters, Heather Wendt, Lisa Valdez and husband, Michael; sister, Arlene Fischer and husband, Richard; brothers, George Wendt and wife, Debi, David Wendt and wife, Terri; grandchildren, Monty and Rheannon Wendt; nieces and nephews, Lynne, Steve, Tammy, Christy and Mike; special friend, Mae Cress. Gerald was a Veteran of the Air Force. He was also employed by ABF Freight and Manager of Interior Materials. His family and friends would like for him to be remembered as a generous, kind hearted father, brother and friend. His primary love was for his family.
