TURNER -- Elsie C. Turner, 96, passed away September 25, 2005 at the Great Barrington Nursing Center in Great Barrington, MA. Born in Austerlitz, NY to George and Nellie Carpenter March 23, 1909. Preceded in death by her husband, John S.; son, Eugene S.; daughters, Geraldine Huggins and Joan Wheeler; grandson, Leo Turner, Jr.; and sister, Rachel Tobias. Survived by daughters, Marjorie Gruen and Natalie Abbott of Albuquerque; sons, John R. of Whiting, NJ and Leo C. Turner, also of Albuquerque; sister, Ruth Radick; and half-sister, Geneva Griswold of Florida; and half-brother, Roger Webster of Massachusetts. In addition, there are 31 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Elsie was a loyal attendee at the First Congregational Church in Stockbridge, MA, where Funeral Services were held on September 29, 2005. Memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice. Services were arranged by Finnerty and Stevens Funeral Homes, 426 Main Street, Great Barrington, MA 01230.
