VALENCIA -- Michael Anthony Valencia, age 32. Our "Mikey," single dad, son, brother, godfather, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 22, 2005. He was born on November 29, 1972. He is survived by the pride and joy of his life, his daughters, Nica Mikayla and Mia Marissa Valencia and Angelique Zamora; his mom, Gloria M. Valencia; his sister, Luanne "Lulu" Trevizo; brothers, Jelal K. Babaa and Leo O. Miniz; his godson and great nephew, Jonathan T. Pinkney; nephews and nieces, Jesus, Guillermo and Luana Miera, Billy Dominguez, Mohammed, Daniel and Victoria Babaa and, great niece, Emma Miranda Mae Pinkney. He is also survived by his uncles, Jesus Valencia, Tinnie and Ann Mae Valencia, Daniel Valencia, Laurence Valencia, Frank Valencia and Harold Valencia; his aunts, Sue Shively and Isabel Griego; his many cousins and other extended family; his mother-in-law, Josie Martinez and in-laws, the Lucero and Martinez families, and just as important, so many friends that to list them all would take an entire newspaper. Everyone who knew Mike was very aware that his daughters were the pride and joy of his life. Mike's friends have been so moved by his love for them, they will honor him by establishing college funds for them. Additional information in this regard will be made available as soon as possible. An open casket and visitation will be held on Wednesday at Garcia Mortuary from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. A short service will take place on Friday also at Garcia Mortuary at 1:00 p.m. followed by interment of his cremated remains at Mt. Calvary Cemetery where he will be buried with his brother, John, in the Rose Garden. Pallbearers will be his nephews and nieces, Jesus and Luana Miera, Billy Dominguez, Mohammed, Victoria and Daniel Babaa. Honorary pallbearers will be all his friends.
