SMITH -- Robert Thomas Smith, 24, a lifetime resident of New Mexico, who spent most of his life in Rio Rancho, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2005. Robert was born December 29, 1980 the son of Frank Lewis and Evelyn Dianne Sandoval Smith, III in Albuquerque. He had been a craftsman in the cabinetmaking industry before his death. Robert is survived by his parents, Frank and Evelyn Smith of Rio Rancho; three brothers, Frank Smith IV and his wife, Laura of Rio Rancho, Edward Smith and his wife, Tonya of Rio Rancho, and Chris Smith of Rio Rancho; nieces, Brytney, Alisha, and Amanda; grandparents, Eppie and Sisto Sandoval of Cuba, NM; aunts and uncles, Mary Sue Erramouspe and husband, John of Santa Theresa, NM, Mike Smith and wife, Helen of Las Cruces, Charles Smith of Roswell, Sisto Sandoval and wife, Carla of Denver, CO, Rudy Sandoval and wife, Belinda of Bartlesville, OK, Mary Sandoval of Cuba, NM, Esther Hernandez and husband, Mark of Albuquerque, and Roydan Soder; numerous cousins; and his best friend, Chopper. A Visitation for Robert will be held today, Tuesday, September 13, 2005 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Monsignor Douglas Raun as celebrant. Private interment will be in Vista Verde Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Frank, Ed, and Chris Smith, Michael Erramouspe, Jimmy Erramouspe, and Bryan Sandoval. Honorary Pallbearers will be Fernando Jiron, Marc Parrillo, David Newman, and Richard Davenport. In lieu of flowers it has been suggested that memorial contributions be made to the family to help defray the costs of Robert's funeral expenses.
