LABASTIDA -- Jorge LaBastida, 56, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away with his family by his side on September 10, 2005 at Kaseman Hospital. Jorge was born on April 18, 1949 to Esther Labastida in Mexico City, Mexico. He was employed by Casa Chevrolet as a courier. He was also a member of the Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. He was predeceased by his mother in 2002. He is survived by his wife, Maria Labastida; his sons, Edgar, Johnny and his wife, Monica, and Francisco Labastida; his daughter, Ivoone Labastida, all of Albuquerque; his brother Enrique, and his wife, Juana; his sisters, Elisa Gijon, and her husband, Ignacio, Aurora Villanueva, also of Albuquerque and Yolanda Gonzalez, and her husband, Roberto, of Mexico City, Mexico; his grandchildren, Annalisha, Cesar, Hannah, Dylan, Alejandro, and Nicholas Labastida, all of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, wonderful father, and proud grandfather. The family would like to thank Kaseman Hospice for their great care and support during this difficult time. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at the Chapel of Sunrise Funeral Options. The Rosary will be recited immediately following the visitation at 6:00 p.m. also at the Chapel of Sunrise Funeral Options.
