SHELTON -- Billy R. Shelton (Bill) went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 6, 2005. Bill was born in Athens, TX on January 3, 1933, raised in Altus, OK, and was a long-term resident of Albuquerque. Bill is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rosalie K.; a son, John Stephen Shelton of Los Angeles, CA; sister, Nelda Ducharme of Deltona, FL; and brother, Mickey Shelton of Altus, OK. He is also survived by four nephews and three nieces. Bill retired from the Air Force after 21 years; and from French Mortuary after 20 years. Bill was a longtime active member of Hoffmantown Church. He has served as a Deacon, Bible Class Teacher for over 35 years; as well as a Trustee of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary from 1982-1992. Bill was devoted to his Lord, loved his family, and enjoyed RVing, musical events, reading; as well as being as avid bible student for over 45 years. Services will be held Friday, August 12, 2005, at 10:30 a.m., at Hoffmantown Church, 8888 Harper Rd. NE, with Pastor Ken Moore officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bob Neal, Waylon Gammill, Lou Sanders, Marvin Daniel, Ted Kauffman, and Don Holmes II. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, Thursday, August 11, 2005, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. French Mortuary 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE 275-3500
