SWEAZEA -- Ray Sweazea, age 77, a resident of Mountainair, NM, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2005. Ray was a member of the Masons for many years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Ray loved the outdoors and would always head to the mountains to hunt and fish, up until his illness began to slow him down. He was an accomplished cutting horse trainer and he raised and trained many quarter horses throughout his life. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Emily Sweazea; and by all of his loving brothers and sisters. Ray is survived by his three children, Patricia McNiel and her husband, Steve; and Karen McKinley, all of Bosque Farms, and Kevin and his wife, Jenny of Mountainair, NM; four grandchildren, Ben, Samantha, Nicole, and Carl. A Graveside Service will be held at the Sweazea family cemetery in Quemado, NM, on Thursday, August 11, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St. Belen.
