VARELA -- Manuel Rey Varela, 21, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on July 31, 2005. Manuel is survived by his parents, Rey and Gloria Varela; his son, Isiah Varela; his fiance, Lazette Ortiz; two sisters, Bianca Varela and Claudia Salazar; three brothers, Cipriano Salazar, Rudy Varela, Devin Daniel Varela; his grandmother, Maria Refugio Varela; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Manuel was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Devin Salazar; his grandfather, Perpetuo Varlea; and his grandmother, Carmen Gallegos. Manuel was a member of the Catholic Church. A visitation for Manuel will be Thursday afternoon in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW with visitation after 6:30 p.m. A final visitation will be Friday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the San Jose De Armijo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Amin Marquez, Adam Chavez, Manuel Aragon, John Sisneros, Jerry Chavez and Raymond Maldonado. Honorary pallbearers will be James Sisneros and Arureliano Navarro.
