ALDERETE -- Jose (Joe) Alderete, 77, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2005 in Socorro, NM. He was born July 10, 1928 in Gallup, NM to Desederio and Adela (Gallegos) Alderete. Joe is survived by his wife, Zella (Gonzales) Alderete of their home in Socorro; sons: Rocco of Arlington, TX; Joel and wife, Kelly of Los Chaves, NM; daughters: Lorella Chavez and husband, Bill of Lemitar, NM; Mela Straley and husband, Dale of Socorro; and Joella Alderete of Las Cruces, NM; brothers: Esau Alderete and wife, Angie of Las Cruces; Jacinto Alderete and wife, Betty of Bedford, TX; and Eli Alderete of Albuquerque, NM; fourteen children; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Lemitar, NM. Inurnment will be in the Lemitar cemetery. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Steadman-Hall Funeral Home, 309 Garfield, Socorro, NM.
