ZOLMAN -- Linn T. "Ted" Zolman, Jr., a longtime resident of Albuquerque and more recently residing in Bovina, Texas and Fort Sumner, New Mexico passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2005 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. He was born August 24, 1937 in Colorado Springs, Colorado and was the son of the late Linn T. and Florence M. Zolman. He graduated from Valley High School Albuquerque in 1955. Ted retired as Master Sergeant with the New Mexico Air National Guard after 30 years of duty. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal which distinguished him in the performance of outstanding service of the United States while assigned to the 150th Logistics Support Flight at Kirtland Air Force Base. He also retired as a driver with Greyhound Bus Lines where he received numerous safe driving awards. He was the New Mexico State Fair Horse Arena Manager for several years and most recently attended Rodeo Announcing School and worked at Rodeos in New Mexico, Texas and Colorado. He enjoyed Trail Riding, attending Cowboy Symposiums, experimenting with Dutch oven cooking and buying fix-up properties for resale. Ted is survived by four sons, Phillip Linn Zolman of Tulia, Texas, David Bruce Zolman of Cornville, Arizona, Michael Dean "Stoney" Zolman of Bennett, Colorado and Linn T. "Trace" Zolman, III; one daughter, Michelle Zolman of Clovis, NM; and six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by three sisters, Loretta K. Logsdon of Albuquerque, NM, Carole J. Smith of Bovina, Texas, and Georgia A. Sciacca of Trinidad, Colorado. Ted is preceded in death by a brother, James Michael Zolman. The family will be serving a light meal at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2005 at the Bosque Arena on the north Bosque Loop, Bosque Farms, NM for friends and family and with a memorial service to begin there at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Bosque Farms Rodeo Association, 1040 Arena Rd., Bosque Farms, NM 87068. Interment will be on Saturday, June 25, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the Crystal Valley Cemetery in Manitou Springs, Colorado.
