VELASQUEZ -- Jose A. Velasquez, age 80, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, was called home by our Heavenly Father, Tuesday, May 31, 2005. He was born in Canjilon, NM, and was a resident of Albuquerque. Jose is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mabel Velasquez of the family home; his children, Joe Velasquez and wife Hope, Tina Ortega and husband Julian, Sheila Jemenez and husband Paul, Dora Pena and husband Isidore, Theresa Quintero, Eileen Sedillo, and Mary Sanchez and husband Michael; 22 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Manuel Velasquez and wife Julia; nieces, nephews; and other family members. Jose will be greatly missed by his loving family. Visitations will be Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Final viewing will be Thursday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday at 9:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be Paul Jemenez, Lawrence Pena, James Quintero, Ernest Sedillo, Joe Velasquez, and Michael Sanchez.
