BOULWARE -- Charlene Boulware, also known as "Brownie", age 76, went home to be with the Lord on May 23, 2005. Charlene was born on January 17, 1929, in Rushville, Nebraska. She is preceded in death by her parents, Chas and Eleanor Brown and step-mother, Nettie Brown. Her life began on the family ranch, and her heart never strayed from the love she had for her original home. Charlene was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Charles L. "Chuck" Boulware; her daughters, Lynne Boulware-Ward (and husband Jim), Lee Stein, and Sherry Anderson (and husband David); five grandchildren, Damon and Jesse Stein, Tristin and Garrett Anderson, and Taryn Ward; and, Charlene's brother, LTG (Ret.) Charles W. Brown (and wife Sherry). Charlene graduated from high school in Lead, South Dakota and then Creighton Nursing School in Omaha, Nebraska in 1950. She had a memorable and distinguished nursing career caring for patients at St. Josephs, Bataan, Presbyterian and Memorial Hospitals. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Ambercare Hospice for all the kind service provided to Charlene and family. Charlene had a special love for animals, and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Watermelon Mountain Ranch Animal Rescue at 4320 C. Ridgecrest Dr. SE, Rio Rancho, New Mexico, 87124. A memorial service will be held on June 4, 2005, 1:00 p.m., at St. Marys Episcopal Church, 1501 Chelwood NE. On July 9, 2005, Charlene will be buried in Rushville, Nebraska.

CORDELL -- Bonnie Marian Evatt Cordell, age 94, of Albuquerque, died and went to be with her Lord on Monday, May 30, 2005. She was born to Mitchell and Antee Evatt in Waldron, AR on Friday, July 29, 1910. She married Eursell S. Cordell in 1929 and they raised their children in Oklahoma and California. She taught elementary school in Kansas, California, and New Mexico. She trusted Christ as her Savior at the age of 12 years. Throughout her life, she wholeheartedly served Him through active participation in her local church. She was an active member of Hoffmantown Baptist Church for many years. In her retirement years, she joined with her husband, Eursell, in 18 mission trips all over the world. She is survived by daughter, Marian Jo Davis of Albuquerque; daughter, Jane Cordell Wright of Springfield, MO; and son, C. David Cordell of Littleton, CO; brother, Tom Evatt of Anchorage, AK; ten grandchildren, Lillian Moon and husband Danny, Larry Davis and wife Carrie, Cindy Chasteen and husband Chris, Renee Lynch and husband David, Robert Simmons and wife Kathy, Sheri Brady, Jerald Wright, Mark McGuckin and wife Lori, Nancy Henkel and husband Kevin, Scott McGuckin and wife Janelle; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eursell; a son, Eursell, Jr.; and a daughter, Jean McGuckin. D'ANDREA -- Lt. Col. Natal V. "Dan" D'Andrea, USAF (Ret.) aged 84 of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday morning May 29, 2005 at a local hospital. He was born on April 5, 1921 in New York City, New York to Vincent and Norma (Rizzo) D'Andrea. He married Elizabeth R. Pead on December 4, 1943 in Houston, TX and she preceded him in death on January 2, 1995 after 52 years of marriage. Mr. D'Andrea is survived by his daughter, Noel and her husband Michael Horcasitas of Corrales, NM; his son, Major Jon and his wife Captain Christa D'Andrea of San Antonio, TX; four grandchildren; two sisters and one brother: Hilda Carvella of Florida, Olga Clemente and Robert D'Andrea, both of New Jersey. Mr. D'Andrea was a retiree of the United States Air Force serving from 1943 until his retirement in 1972 where he has since resided in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He served in WWII, Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War as a navigator and a meteorologist. He volunteered his passion of Paleontology at the Natural History Museum in Albuquerque; he also held a degree and certification in industrial hygiene and held a position with the state of New Mexico as an OSHA inspector for over ten years. FRATRICK -- George T. Fratrick, 83, a resident of Albuquerque, died on Monday, May 30, 2005. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Fratrick; daughter, Michelle Fratrick of Albuquerque; two sons, Michael and wife Marge of Albuquerque, and Mark and wife Vicki of Taos; one grandson, Jason Fratrick of Albuquerque; two sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. George was a veteran of the U.S Army having served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He was also a member of Risen Savior Catholic Community. He loved his garden and loved to cook and enjoyed a good martini. FRAZEE -- Joseph O. Frazee, age 86 was called home on Saturday, May 28, 2005. He will be reunited with his loving wife Norma who preceded him in death on May 4th 2002. He is survived by his four children, Karen Frazier of Arizona, Mark Frazee of Albuquerque, Chris Frazee of Colorado, and Jodi Brown Frazee of Albuquerque; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Despite his lack of opportunity for formal education, he enlisted in the United States Navy at age 17. His persistence, desire to serve and determination to succeed earned him the rank of Lieutenant Commander. While fulfilling various assignments including the Maiden voyage of the USS Saratoga [CVA-60], the Atomic Energy Commission and the Office of the Inspector General he and his family resided in Norfolk, VA; Las Vegas, NV; San Diego, San Francisco, Panama and Albuquerque, NM. He resided in Albuquerque at 3 different times the 1940s, 1950s, and located here permanently in June of 1968. Though his lifetime accomplishments were many, what he was best known for was his generosity and gratitude for those who extended kindness toward him and his family. He was sometimes referred to as the "turtle man" because he presented boxes of "turtles" candy as a token of his appreciation. There are many health care personnel of the Veteran's Hospital, the employees of his favorite restaurants and friends will greatly miss the sweetness of his gratitude. Funeral services will be held at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, on Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Larry Miller officiating. KUTT -- Joseph Charles Kutt, 87, a resident of Rio Rancho, died at home on Friday, May 27, 2005 after a short illness. Joseph enjoyed golf, working around his home, and he was an active member and volunteer of the Meadowlark Senior Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann (Wiencek) Kutt. Joseph is survived by his children, Ernestine Kutt Sitkiewicz of Anchorage, AK, Therese Kutt Reinhart and husband Jack of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, Patricia Kutt of Kansas City, MO, and Thomas Kutt of Mt. Prospect, IL; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. We would like to thank Presbyterian Hospice for their care and support during Joseph's final days. LINDSEY -- Ruth In Memory of Dr. Ruth Lindsey October 26, 1926 - May 29, 2005 Dr. Ruth Lindsey was born in 1926 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. She graduated from high school in Checotah, Oklahoma. She earned her BS from Oklahoma State University in 1948, her MS from the University of Wisconsin in 1954, her Doctorate of Physical Education from Indiana University in 1965 and was certified as a Kinesiotherapist in 1970. Ruth was an instructor and on the faculty of Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1948-50, at Monticello College, Alton, Illinois 1951-54, and DePauw University, Greencastle, Indiana 1954-56. She was a professor, Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma 1956-75. Ruth's area of special interest was anatomy, kinesiology and corrective physical education. During her time on the OSU faculty, Ruth won the Oklahoma Women's Fencing Championship in May 1961. She was on leave from OSU as a visiting professor at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, 1975-76. She was then Professor of Physical Education, California State University at Long Beach, California 1976-88, and Professor Emeritus, California State University, 1988. Dr. Ruth Lindsey's professional awards and honors include: Amy Morris Homans Fellowship (an award given annually by Wellesley College for advanced work, research or publications in physical education), 1964; Meritorious Service Honor, Oklahoma Association Health, Physical Education & Recreation, 1970 for outstanding contributions to the profession as relates to teaching, administration, research and leadership in professional associations. She received the Meritorious Performance award from California State University, 1987. She was also awarded the Julian Vogel Memorial award by the American Kinesiotherapy Association in 1988 and a Fellow of AAH-PERD. Dr. Ruth Lindsey was a member of: American Kinesiotherapy Association; the California Association of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation; National Council Against Health Fraud; the American College of Sports Medicine; the Orange County, California, Nutrition Council, and the Phi Kappa Phi. She was in the Marquis Who's Who 1971, 1974, 1975, 1994, 1995, 1999. Dr. Lindsey also was editor of "Perspectives," the Journal of Western Society for Physical Education College Women, from 1988 to 1995. She was author or co-author of 13 textbooks on physical fitness. Among these was "Fitness for Life, 4th Edition" with co-author Charles Coburn published by Scott Foresman, for which they received the Texty Award in 1997, in El-HI Communication/Education/Performing and Visual Arts from the Text and Academic Authors Association. That association also gave Dr. Lindsey and co-author Charles Coburn the McGuffey Award in 1998 for their book, "Concepts of Physical Fitness," published by Brown & Bench Mark. Her father, Lewis Howard Lindsey and mother, Kenyon Roberta Lindsey preceded Ruth in death. She is survived by her sister, Lewise Snyder from Albuquerque; brothers, Fred S. Lindsey from Carmel, IN and Gerald P. Lindsey from Albuquerque. Nieces are Becky Smith of Cloudcoft, NM, Jan Stiles of Modesto, CA, Cheryl Lindsey from Goshem, KY, Dr. Roberta Lindsey of Carmel, IN and Donna Mack from Las Vegas, NV; nephew is Austin Lindsey from Albuquerque. Ruth has six grand-nieces and five grand-nephews. MORRIS -- Doyle W. Morris, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, May 28, 2005. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bobbie J. Morris of Albuquerque; daughter, Michelle Fite and husband, Roger of Edmond OK; son, Kevin Morris and wife, Margaret of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Troy, Candice, Lance, Kevin Jr., and Emily; and sisters, Ruby Smith and husband, Ollie of Olton, TX and Lenore Morris and husband, Phillip of Chattanooga, TN. Doyle was a Navy Veteran, serving his country proudly during WWII in the South Pacific. He moved to New Mexico in 1960 to work as the Office Manager for the Glorieta Baptist Assembly until 1973. He was a CPA and owned his own accounting business for 32 years, some years in Santa Fe and most recently in Albuquerque. Doyle was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Albuquerque where he served as a Deacon and on various committees. PARKER -- Muriel "Penny" Parker, 81, a resident of Albuquerque since 1970, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2005 surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Henry L. Parker; sister, Jan; brother, Bill; daughter, Cynthia; her children, Kari, Mollie, Abbi, Evan, and Spencer; son, Jeffery and wife Karin; his children, James, Jordan, and Staci, and his stepson, Chris. She was preceded in death by her brother Darrel. Born August 9, 1923 in Minneapolis, MN, Muriel joined the Navy in 1944, two days after D-Day. She met and married Henry in 1947 and continued to follow and support her husband's military career all around the world. Muriel was an active member in both WAVES and the Elks Club. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was truly adored and loved by all those that she encountered throughout her life. SMITH -- James E. Smith (Jimmy), born in 1947, died peacefully in Albuquerque on May 24, 2005 after years of courageously living with AIDS and fighting cancer in the last several months. He is survived by his life partner of thirty years, David Mario of Albuquerque; his mother, Helen Smith and sister, Nancy Dudley Smith, both of Indiana; as well as numerous other relatives and many friends. Jimmy had a clear vision of his role as an activist on behalf of people living with HIV as well as disabled persons and their families. Among his immeasurable contributions to these communities are: Founding board member of New Mexico AIDS Services, member of the board of the National Association of People Living With AIDS, lobbying the United States Congress on behalf of people with disabilities, street outreach and needle-exchange programs in Albuquerque, and public speaking on the HIV crisis. Some years ago Jimmy and other HIV positive activists collected funds to support the work of Mother Theresa; they were able to deliver these donations in person when she visited Gallup, which was a most significant event in Jimmy's life. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten. In keeping with Jimmy's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no memorial service. VELASQUEZ -- Jose A. Velasquez, age 80, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, was called home by our Heavenly Father, Tuesday, May 31, 2005. He was born in Canjilon, NM, and was a resident of Albuquerque. Jose is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mabel Velasquez of the family home; his children, Joe Velasquez and wife Hope, Tina Ortega and husband Julian, Sheila Jemenez and husband Paul, Dora Pena and husband Isidore, Theresa Quintero, Eileen Sedillo, and Mary Sanchez and husband Michael; 22 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Manuel Velasquez and wife Julia; nieces, nephews; and other family members. Jose will be greatly missed by his loving family. Visitations will be Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. WHITE -- Reverend Dr. Rue W. White, 80, a long time resident of Albuquerque, went home to his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ on May 26, 2005. He was born August 25, 1924 in Green Forest, AR. For 29 years, he was the well known Deacon at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, assisting with Mass, marriages, baptisms and funerals. Deacon Rue also coordinated a Eucharistic Ministry program for the sick and home-bound. He worked for many years to establish the first Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Albuquerque and was a Chevalier of the Patriarchal Order de la Sainte Croix de Jerusalem. Deacon Rue was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was elected Secretary of the New Mexico Clergy Senate. Prior to receiving a Master of Divinity and a Doctorate of Ministry in 1983, Lieutenant Commander White had retired from a distinguished career as a U.S. Naval Officer, where he was among the first American personnel to occupy Japan after WWII, and for many years he was a safety instructor and inspector of military nuclear programs. Deacon Rue was preceded in death, just one year ago by his beloved wife of 56 years, Patricia Ann; his parents, Joseph Thomas and Opal Mae; his sister, Laveta Mae; and a son, Kieran Bernard. He is survived by six children, Maureen Hamilton of Santa Fe, NM; Joseph White of Fairfax, VA; Shaun White of Englewood, CO; David White and Moira Newquist, both of Albuquerque, NM; and Melinda Garcia of Santa Fe, NM.
