RODGERS -- Lena K. Rodgers, a resident of Del Rio, TX, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 12, 2005. Lena was born February 21, 1912 in Pueblo, CO to William and Carolyn Kindel. She married William Rodgers and had one son, also named William Rodgers. Lena was preceded in death by her husband and her son. The family moved to Albuquerque in the late 1930s until 1965 when they returned to Colorado. She was an active member of First Baptist Church and a founding member of Hoffmantown Baptist Church. Lena taught preschool and Sunday School for many years, attended WMU and taught Internationals English as a second language. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Rita Stone; grandchildren, Richard and wife, Teri Rodgers, Laura and husband, Michael Freeman, and Raymond Rodgers; and great-grandchildren, Heather Freeman, Elizabeth Rodgers, and Nicholas Rodgers. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel.
