MARES -- Gina J. Mares lived life to the fullest to the age of 55. She opened her heart to everyone that she met and was a wonderful friend to all that knew her. A proud mother to her two boys, she can rest peacefully knowing she was a faithful daughter, beloved sister, devoted godmother, and trusted friend. Gina retired in Las Vegas, NM with Isaac Gold, Jr., of Las Vegas, NM, after working for 20 plus years for the City of Albuquerque. Everyone joked that no matter where she went, she always ran into somebody she worked with at the City. She and Isaac shared a wonderful home filled with love, lots of plants and her beautiful knickknacks she loved to create when not working at Luna Community College in Las Vegas. She gave her all to the students and co-workers at Luna who loved to pass by her office to admire her flowers or those who just sat down to talk. Or maybe it was to marvel at all the jewelry she was famous for wearing, and how she made it all match so perfectly. She is survived by her mother, Lucy Dominguez; her sons, Raymond and Isaac Mares and their father, Ray F. Mares, of Albuquerque, NM; brothers, Jerry Dominguez and wife, Nancy, Richard Dominguez, Danny Dominguez and wife, Silver, and Marvin Dominguez; sisters, Angela Sedillo and husband, Pablo Sedillo III, and Michelle Satterfield; as well as many nieces, nephews, and godchildren. A Rosary will be recited at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1860 Griegos Rd. NW, on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. A second Rosary will be recited at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Church the following day at 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers, standing and honorary, will be Pablo Sedillo III, Carlo Sedillo, Pablo Sedillo IV, Gary Gold, Dennis Gold, Rodney Gold, David Michelback, and Jimmy Silva. Gina wished to be surrounded by flowers and donations of same can be sent to the Mortuary, or the respective Churches in Albuquerque or Las Vegas.
