STARKEY -- Richard R. Starkey 1926-2005 Richard R. "Dick" Starkey, 78, of St. Joseph, MO, died Tuesday February 1, 2005 at his residence. Born February 10, 1926 in Lincoln, NE, he lived most of his life in St. Joseph. He married Joann Wedgewood, who preceded him in death. Mr. Starkey retired as an over the road truck driver after fifty years, retiring from McLean Trucking. He was a member of the Teamsters Union. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Lola (Janseen) Starkey, and two brothers, Robert and Russell Starkey. Survivors include his children, Sherry Owens and Cathy Steeby, both of St. Joseph, Cindy Jones, of Stewartsville, MO, Robin Snead, Roger, and Rick Starkey, all of Albuquerque, NM, and their spouses; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Starkey was cremated under the direction of Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Joseph, MO. (816) 232-3366
