GONZALEZ -- Vidal Trujillo, age 81, lifelong resident of Garfield and of Sierra County, passed away of natural causes on January 13, 2005 at the family farm. Mrs. Gonzalez retired as a schoolteacher and a was graduate of the University of New Mexico Class of 1944 and spent 30 years in the Dona Ana and Sierra County school system (Arrey). She is survived by her husband, Santiago (Jim) Gonzalez; one son, Benjamin Gonzalez, both of Garfield; two daughters, Dr. Deena J. Gonzalez of Los Angeles and Dr. Rita V. Gonzalez of Las Cruces, Her brother, Victor Trujillo of Deming, and sister, Teresa Cordova of El Paso, mourn her passing. Other survivors include numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and former students. Her parents, Tomas T. and Juanita Garcia Trujillo and one sister, Phyllis Ruiz preceded her in death. Visitation for Mrs. Gonzalez will begin at 6:00 p.m., Monday, January 17, 2005 at San Isidro Catholic Church in Garfield, where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. Family and friends will join together to Celebrate the Funeral Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2005 in the same church with the Reverend Virgilio Flores, Celebrant. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the Garfield Cemetery. Serving as casket bearers will be Jerry Cordova, Tommy Trujillo, Johnny and Roy Ruiz, Adrian Gonzalez and Frank Chavez. Honorary bearer will be Lino Chavez. Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels 300 E. Boutz Road Las Cruces. 527-2222
