BURK -- On Saturday, December 18, 2004 Richard "Dick" Burk went to be with his Lord. He passed away suddenly in his home. Dick was born on October 27, 1930 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He and his wife, Maxine shared 43 happy years together and was a devoted father and grandfather. Dick is survived by his daughters, Kari Sue Rayment and husband, Jeff of Cheyenne, WY and Coni Kay Light and husband, Lavon of Grapevine, TX; son, Steven Glenn Burk and wife, April of Carrollton, TX; grandchildren, Danielle, Hannah and Ryan Light, Meghan, Kristen and Collin Burk; sisters, Betty Bouse and husband, Bob and Joan May and husband Charlie. Dick is preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and "Papo" Gunn. Dick retired from the State of New Mexico previously worked in the insurance industry for GAB, Aetna, & Ed Murray & Sons Insurance in Cheyenne. Dick was an Elder for Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Rio Rancho. He had been a member of the Sunrise Lions Club in Cheyenne. Dick was a 32nd Degree Mason & Scottish Rite member. He maintained a private pilot license and enjoyed flying R.C. model airplanes, snowmobiling, SCCA racing and was an avid Denver Bronco fan. Dick was an Army veteran and served in Korea. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Shepard of the Hills Lutheran Church, 2400 Monterrey Rd. NE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124, with Pastor Robert Pinta, officiating. Interment of cremains will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions can be made to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 2400 Monterrey Rd. NE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.
