AMLONG -- James N. Amlong, Sr., 71, beloved husband, father, and grandpa, died Sunday, December 19, 2004, after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ann; children, Deborah Dailey; Catherine Lanier and husband, Randy; Michele Hennie and husband, Lee; James "Butch" Amlong, Jr. and wife, Kim; Patricia Amlong and Christine Morrell and husband, Matt. He was "Papa" to eighteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Gerald Amlong and wife, Judy, and nieces and nephews. Jim was a retired Vietnam Veteran and Purple Heart recipient. He enjoyed many years on the board of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. He will always be remembered for his great smile and being an expert joke and story teller. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, December 22, 2004 at 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 2532 Vermont NE. ARMIJO -- Jeremy Michael Armijo, age 23, went to be with Jesus, Friday, December 17, 2004. He was a lifetime resident of Albuquerque and will be remembered as a loving son, brother and friend to all who knew him. Jeremy is survived by his mother, Marianne Armijo; father, Ernie Armijo; sisters, Jaclyn Armijo, Jennifer Hughes and husband John; other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. The visitation and funeral service will be held at Praise and Worship Center, at the corner of Isleta and Barcelona SW. The visitation will be on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. BACA -- Andres (Andy) Antonio Baca, age 36, beloved father, son, brother, uncle, nino, and friend, was called home by our Heavenly Father, Saturday, December 18, 2004. Andy was born on December 20, 1967; and was a resident of Bernalillo, NM. He was a truck driver for Black Canon. He was preceded in death by a brother, Benny Baca; and his grandpa, Elfego Baca. Andy is survived by his precious two year old son, Isaiah Baca; his loving parents, Viola Baca of Bernalillo and Juan Baca and wife Bertha of Los Lunas, NM; a brother, Juan Baca and wife Jessica of Bernalillo; two sisters, Mary Baca and Martin Montoya, Veronica Gurule and husband Greg both of Bernalillo; nieces and nephews, Dominic, Francina, Vicente, Michelle, Jerome, Danielle, Jesus, Ricky and Ashley; and other beloved family members and friends. Andy will be greatly missed by his loving family. BIGGS -- Irene Angela Crawford Biggs, 85, passed away peacefully at a local Albuquerque retirement home on Saturday evening December 18, 2004, after an illness of several months. Her husband George (Joe) Biggs, Col. USAF (Ret.), was at her bedside. Irene will be greatly missed. She was born in Brooklyn, NY of January 1, 1919 and had lived in Albuquerque since 1968. Irene and Joe had celebrated 65 years of marriage on December 9, 2004. Prior to her marriage Irene had worked at the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in New York City. Following her marriage, she spent thirty years as a devoted Air Force wife and mother of four children. Irene was preceded in death by her son, Michael; her parents, John and Irene Crawford; and her sister, Virginia. She is survived by her husband, Joe; her sons, George of Los Alamos, NM and James and wife, Diane of Albuquerque; and her daughter, Patricia and husband, Robert Morrisette of Huntington Beach, CA. Also surviving are her sister, Laura Kelly of Queens, NY; grandchildren, Jennifer and husband, Major Michael Keltos of Edwards AFB, CA, Jill and husband, James Spears of Ocoee, FL, Joseph Biggs of Chicago, IL, and Andrea and Hayley Morrisette of Huntington Beach, CA; step-grandchildren, Corey Morrisette of Huntington Beach, CA; and great-grandchildren, Kaitlin and Benjamin Keltos of Edwards AFB, CA. Irene was a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Parish and had been active in the Holy Name Society and the Committee on the Aging. BLACK -- GERALDINE LAMOREUX BLACK Age 74, longtime resident of Santa Fe, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, December 19, 2004. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 55 years, Truett L. Black. She is survived by her sons: Jim E. Black and wife Martha of Santa Fe, who are the parents of Matthew, Katie, and Jacob; David Black and wife Claudia of Albuquerque have one daughter, Erin. Geraldine was born in Santa Fe on February 27, 1930. She and Truett lived their lives praising God and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ throughout their lives together. Geraldine's memorial service will take place Tuesday, December 21, 2004, at 7 p.m., at Calvary Baptist Church, 1313 Apache Avenue in Santa Fe. BLAKE -- Albina Aldona Kruvelis Blake, 84, born in Scranton, Pennsylvania on October 27, 1920 passed peacefully on December 19, 2004 surrounded by all her family. She was preceded in death by her husband William Blake and twin sister Ruth Wyszinski. She is survived by her son, Vince Budris and wife Doris; granddaughter, Ashley Budris; two grandsons, Jason and Jordan Budris; one great-grandson, Benjamin Marsel Budris; brother-in-law Frank Wyszinski; nephew, Michael Wyszinski; nieces, Gerri Namias, Ruth Valva, Eleanor Zemaitis, and Dorothy Camarata; and her loving companion Conrad Salazar. Albina moved to New Mexico from Creskill, New Jersey 17 years ago. She retired from Scholastic Books. She was very active in the American Legion in Creskill, NJ. She was a member of Holy Child Parish. BURK -- On Saturday, December 18, 2004 Richard "Dick" Burk went to be with his Lord. He passed away suddenly in his home. Dick was born on October 27, 1930 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He and his wife, Maxine shared 43 happy years together and was a devoted father and grandfather. Dick is survived by his daughters, Kari Sue Rayment and husband, Jeff of Cheyenne, WY and Coni Kay Light and husband, Lavon of Grapevine, TX; son, Steven Glenn Burk and wife, April of Carrollton, TX; grandchildren, Danielle, Hannah and Ryan Light, Meghan, Kristen and Collin Burk; sisters, Betty Bouse and husband, Bob and Joan May and husband Charlie. Dick is preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and "Papo" Gunn. Dick retired from the State of New Mexico previously worked in the insurance industry for GAB, Aetna, & Ed Murray & Sons Insurance in Cheyenne. Dick was an Elder for Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Rio Rancho. He had been a member of the Sunrise Lions Club in Cheyenne. Dick was a 32nd Degree Mason & Scottish Rite member. He maintained a private pilot license and enjoyed flying R.C. model airplanes, snowmobiling, SCCA racing and was an avid Denver Bronco fan. Dick was an Army veteran and served in Korea. CANADAY -- Emma (Essie) Canaday, a resident of Albuquerque for 57 years, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2004 at the age of 95. Essie was preceded in death by her husbands, Chester N. Jones and Robert Harvey Canaday, and she is survived by her two sons, Gordon D. Jones of Rio Rancho, NM., and David Canaday of Newport Beach, California; six grandchildren, Marianne Brown, Michael Jones, Kerin Jones, Larissa Canaday Olsen, Christa Canaday and Patrick Canaday; seven great grandchildren, Aaron Brown, Kylene Brown, Mikhaela Sanchez, Mary Kate Jones, Sophia Olsen, Connor Jones and Olivia Olsen; one great great grandchild, Soloman Brown; one sister, Nell Brackeen and one brother, Don Butler. She was born July 1, 1909 in the Territory of New Mexico at San Jon. Essie was raised in Hobart, Oklahoma with her seven brothers and sisters, graduating from Hobart High School. While living in Hobart, she was the bookkeeper for an auto dealer and an oil company. After the death of her husband, Chester, she owned and operated a dry cleaning business. Remaining in Hobart, she later married Harvey. While he was away in World War II she moved the family to Oklahoma City where she and her brother, Marlin Butler, purchased the Log Cabin Theatre and Motel. After WWII, in 1947, she moved with her family to Albuquerque, where they owned and operated Ace Plumbing Company, for 15 years. Essie was an active member of the First Baptist Church since 1949, as well as a member of the Daughters of the Nile. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a very intelligent, loving and caring woman. Essie was and remains a very special lady in all of our hearts. DROLLINGER -- Jean Drollinger, 62, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1979, and coming to New Mexico from Indiana, passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2004. Jean was born April 12, 1942 the daughter of Maxim James and Janet Campbell Dowd in Louisville, Kentucky. She had been an accountant at the Corporate level before her death. She was in the last class of the University of Albuquerque and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1986. Jean loved ballooning; and enjoyed flying as a balloon pilot for 16 years. She was an avid reader; and is lovingly remembered by her family and friends as a person who loved life! Jean married Howard Drollinger on April 28, 1962 in Ft. Sheridan, Illinois. Jean is survived by her husband Howard of the family home; one sister, Kay Becenti and husband Lucas of Albuquerque; one brother, Max Dowd of Albuquerque, NM; several nieces and nephews including, niece, June Salas and husband Robert of Albuquerque. HICKMAN -- Delia E. (Dee) Hickman, age 68, of Trussville, Alabama, formerly of Albuquerque, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 18, 2004. She was born October 25, 1936, to Roy and Florence Elam in Anna, Illinois. She had been a member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church in Albuquerque for many years prior to moving to Alabama in 2003. She was a graduate of Southern Illinois University, with a Masters Degree in Education, and taught in elementary schools for many years in Illinois, Montana, Alaska, Virginia, California and New Mexico. Prior to retiring in 1993 she taught at Sunset Mesa School in Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her brother, Roy Elam, Jr., a WWII veteran, and her parents, Roy and Florence. Survivors include her husband, Jimmie L. Hickman, their son Ross Hickman and his wife Paige and their two sons Caleb and Seth. She is also survived by John and Mark Meyer, of Lewiston, Idaho, sons of a previous marriage, and two other grandsons, Joshua and Jacob Dean of Nashville, Tennessee; two sisters, Dimple Smick of Anaheim California, and Velda Derrington, of Evansville, Indiana, and numerous nieces and nephews. Dee touched the lives of many elementary school pupils, many of whom had kept in touch with her through the years. She was an accomplished musician, playing the piano, organ, vibraphone, and singing in churches throughout the West for most of her life. She was involved in support of a number of charitable organizations, including Campus Crusade for Christ, High Teens of Albuquerque, and a guest speaker and vocalist for Christian Women's Club. Funeral services will be held at Eastern Hills Baptist Church, 3100 Morris NE in Albuquerque on Wednesday, December 22, 2004, at 10:00 am, with private services and interment following at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. LUCERO -- Patrick Louis Lucero passed away Sunday morning, December 19, 2004. Patrick was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque. He loved fishing, hunting, and outdoor activities. His parents, Adolph Lucero and Vera Dominguez, preceded him in death. His wife, Diane, and two daughters, Jasmine Lucero and Heather Lucero survive him. He has four grandchildren, Brendan, Dominique, Raymond, and Elias. He has three brothers, Eugene Lucero and his wife Gloria, Mike Coley and his wife Irma, and Chuck Lucero; as well as one sister, Lorene Chacon and her husband Ted. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends also survive him. He will be greatly missed by everyone. Cremation will take place immediately. The family will hold a Rosary in his memory. MARTIN -- Lena E. Martin, age 74, and a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at her home, alongside her family Sunday, December 19, 2004. She was preceded in death by her son, Douglas and her husband William. Lena is survived by her daughters, Charlene Martin, Mary Dawalt, Tammy Martin, and Greta Stout; sons, Robert Martin and Chad Buckland; 17 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one great great grandson; many other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. MONTOYA -- Sabino A. Montoya, a lifelong resident of Bernalillo, NM was called to his heavenly home on Sunday, December 19, 2004, while surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife Lugardita Montoya; daughters, Beatrice Duran and Mary Ellen Montoya both of Albuquerque; five grandsons, George Pitts and wife Rose Anne, Nathan Duran and wife Elvira, Jerome Pitts, Matthew Lopez and wife JoAnn, and Andrew Trujillo and wife Charlotte; one granddaughter, Lynette Pitts; and 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sister-in-laws, Nena Montoya, Eva Weber, and Frances Garduno; and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his brother, Orlando Montoya in September 2004. Sabino retired after serving as Sandoval County Assessor for 23 years; as Councilman he had the privilege of turning on the first street lights in the Town of Bernalillo. Sabino will be greatly missed by his loving family. Visitations will be this evening from 5:30 p.m. till the time of the Rosary; which will be recited at 6:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Final viewing will be Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Bernalillo; where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nathan Duran, Martin Montoya, Dominic Montoya, Brian Pitts, Jeremy Pitts, and Jason Velarde. ROMANKIW -- Rosalie Romankiw passed away peacefully on December 19, 2004. She is survived by her son George Romankiw; daughter Gloria Perrine and husband John. SENA -- Benjamin H. Sena, Sr., 23, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2004. He is survived by his daughter, Abigail A. Sena; son, Benjamin H. Sena, Jr.; girlfriend, Ashlie Bell; mother, Mary Louise Sena, all of Albuquerque; father, Herman J. THOMPSON -- Frances S. Thompson, age 74, passed away peacefully while sleeping on December 16, 2004 under hospice care. She is survived by her husband, Owen Locke (Tommy) Thompson of Albuquerque, and her son, Blake Thompson of Albuquerque and Denver, CO. She is also survived by three brothers, Harry Starnes in Virginia, Harold Starnes and Carl Starnes in East Tennessee, a sister, Dorothy Viklund of Torrance, CA, and many nieces and nephews. Fran grew up in Baileyton, Tennessee and attended Tusculum College in Greeneville before working for the Dept. of Defense in Washington, DC. She moved to Albuquerque in 1952, where she worked for DoD and the Dept. of Energy. She met and married her husband in Albuquerque; their fiftieth anniversary would have been in May. After her retirement in 1990, she volunteered her time to the church, the American Cancer Association, and others who were in need. Her great humor and cheer and her concern for others throughout her own battle with illness was an inspiration to those around her, and she will be missed by all whose lives she touched. A memorial service for the deceased will be held at 11 a.m., Wed. December 29, at Asbury Methodist Church, 10000 Candelaria NE, Albuquerque, 299-0643.
