RIVERA -- Celia (Salazar) Rivera, peacefully passes away at the age of 82, at her home in Albuquerque, Friday, December 17, 2004, surrounded by her loving daughters. Born in Ignacio, CO, June 2, 1922, she was preceded in death by her parents, Blas and Selina Salazar; brothers, Flavio and Adonais, and grandson, Edward. Celia is survived by her daughters, Sally Urioste, Lydia Cordova, Margaret Rodriguez and husband Ubaldo, Martha Baca and Paul; one sister, Lucy Brown of Huntington, Utah; one brother, John Salazar and wife Flora of Ignacio, CO.; grandchildren, Brandi and husband US. Army Sgt. Steven D. Lucero (deployed), Melody, Christopher, Blas and Javier Rodriguez, Henrietta, Celeste, and Pamela; ten great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces, and many close friends. Celia was a very loving, caring person, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a volunteer of the Foster Grandparent Program, and enjoyed working with "her children" as she liked to call them. Services will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church, 4th and Mildred NW. in Albuquerque, with a rosary being recited on Monday, December 2Oth, 2004, at 7:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at 9:3Oam. Burial will follow at Rosario Cemetery in Santa Fe.
