CLINE -- Roy Cline, Jr. Roy went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 12, 2004. He was born July 1, 1914 in Osage, OK and moved with his parents and six sisters to New Mexico in 1926. In 1931 Roy Jr. helped his parents by being a co-founder of Clines Corners, NM. He served with distinction in the Army Air Corps during WWII in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. Roy married Joy May Shay on December 13, 1941 in Las Vegas, NV. Along with co-founding Clines Corners, Roy owned Half Moon Truck Stop just west of Santa Rosa, making him one of the Route 66 pioneers. After selling the Half Moon due to the new interstate highway system, Roy moved his family to Albuquerque in 1959 where he operated a construction company, invested in properties and development and other entrepreneur activities. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Sr. and Daisy Cline and his six sisters. He is survived by two sons, Michael and wife Carol, of Albuquerque, Jerry and wife Rosalia, of Los Lunas; and one daughter, Sharon McClain and husband Marcus, of Santa Fe; five grandchildren, Michael Jr., Melissa, Michele, Candice and Crystal; and nine great-grandchildren. Memorial service will take place on Thursday, December 16, 2004 at 3:30 p.m. at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel. Interment will be held on Friday, December 17, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. French Mortuary 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW (505) 897-0300
