SWANSON -- Joyce Tuck Swanson was born June 5, 1927. She attended grade and high school in Sioux City, Iowa then went to the University of Minnesota where she graduated from nursing school. She worked in a hospital in Sioux City for awhile. Her half sister Audrey wanted to go for adventure and together they headed for Albuquerque. There she worked as a school nurse for twenty-nine years. She retired in 1988. She married Arnold Swanson October 27, 1972. After they both retired they traveled extensively, doing both long and short trips. Joyce enjoyed cats, her work and travel. Since she had no children of her own, she missed the children at school so much after retirement. Joyce is survived by her step-daughter Carolyn Weisleder. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, December 9, 2004 at Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale Blvd. SE.
